25.01.2022 With facemasks now mandatory in Victoria, it's important to understand how to stay safe indoors and practice good air hygiene. InovaAir medical-grade HEPA air purifiers are commercial-grade HEPA air purifiers with certified filtration efficiency. An N95 rated mask recommended for front line medical workers is certified to 95% efficiency @ 0.3 microns, an H13 HEPA filter is 99.95% @ 0.3 microns, the big difference being that you can filter the air in your entire space to this standard, not just on your face. 25.01.2022 Respiratory illnesses are on the rise in the Upper Hunter region of NSW, due to the historically unprecedented number of bushfires, the drought and nearby coal mines, along with strong wind gusts distributing airborne particles throughout the region. While there isnt much that can be done to improve the situation outside, it is possible to improve the air quality inside the home with one of our Medical-grade HEPA air purifiers. InovaAir was founded in hopes of helping people with such issues, and this is why we are are really passionate about #SeriouslyCleanAir

25.01.2022 HOW AN AIR PURIFIER CAN REDUCE ALLERGY SYMPTOMS Runny noses, itchy eyes, breathing problems and other symptoms that can arise during allergy season are a problem for a growing number of Australians causing immense frustration and irritation for those who suffer from these symptoms. Australians are being told to prepare for the worst hayfever season in years as spring brings more pollen into the air, according to University of Melbourne botanist Dr. Ed Newbigin.... Almost 20% of the Australian population has an allergic disease and this is increasing according to allergy Australia, while nearly 5 million Australians had hayfever in 2017-2018, according to the Australian Institute of Health & Welfare. 20.01.2022 Do you know Australia is ranked 66th in the world for its fuel quality? We are ranked lowest in the developed world and this means some of the best and cleanest European cars cannot be shipped to Australia. Improving our fuel quality would offer a 3% to 5% improvement in CO2 performance overnight, and importantly, reduce exposure to harmful sulfur and airborne particle pollution. #SeriouslyCleanAir

19.01.2022 Air Pollutions Connection to COVID-19 Death Rates A recent study conducted by researchers from the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, MA, USA, has shown evidence linking air pollution levels to the death rates of COVID-19. The study examined more than 3,000 counties across the USA and was adjusted for population size, hospital beds, number of people tested for COVID-19, weather, and socioeconomic and behavioral variables... such as obesity and smoking to gain a more accurate result.7 Through this process, it was found that even a small increase in long-term exposure to PM2.5 could lead to in increase in COVID-19 mortality. In fact, the researchers determined that someone living in an area of high particulate pollution is 15% more likely to die from COVID-19 than someone living in a slightly less polluted area.2 The scientists made it clear there is more research that needs to be done before a conclusive result can be confirmed. This research will only come with more time and data on individuals effected by both air pollution and COVID-19. 18.01.2022 There is some great information shared in this article on how to prevent smoke inhalation in your home, however two of the points need clarification... air conditioner systems in Australia are split and ducted and generally only recycle the air, while commercial systems in shopping centres and libraries bring air in from the outside and have low efficiency filters so the air quality in these places will actually be worse than staying at home with doors and windows closed and your air purifier on, which is the most effective way to combat smoke. 14.01.2022 What makes the best air purifier for bushfire smoke removal? With more than 100 bushfires burning in Australia, and Sydney experiencing worse air quality than Beijing and New Delhi, millions of Australians are suffering from the harmful effects of smoke inhalation, which can be worse than second-hand cigarette smoke. This ongoing problem is posing serious risks of short-term and long-term health effects, particularly for pregnant woman and children with asthma. What makes bu...shfire smoke so dangerous is the high concentrations of particles, ranging from large to ultra-fine. Its the ultra-fine particles that pose the biggest threat. They can travel hundreds of kilometres and remain airborne for long periods of time. There is also the smoke vapour, which consists of gases including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds. If you are looking for an air purifier to filter bushfire smoke from the air in your home or workplace, it is important to understand the basics of how an air purifier filters particles and smoke. The majority of air purifiers found in appliance stores are ineffective against smoke because they contain very little activated carbon, usually only a pad, which is a few millimeters thick. Activated carbon works like a sponge, it adsorbs the smoke from the airstream. It is used in gas masks by firefighters and in professional grade gas respirators. Too little activated carbon, and the smoke will pass straight through. The more activated carbon in the filter, the more contact time with the smoke, and the better it will be removed from the air; it will also last significantly longer. At InovaAir, we manufacture our filters with the largest amount of activated carbon filters on the market. Our E8 model includes 2.5kgs and the E20 series contains 6kgs, which makes them highly effective in smoke removal. We also protect the carbon filters with an H13 medical-grade HEPA filter, so no particles can clog the activated carbon and make it ineffective. When looking at air purifiers for smoke removal, dont make the mistake of buying a system that relies primarily on a HEPA filter, as it will only do half the job and still leave your home smelling of smoke. If you choose a cheaper system without adequate activated carbon in the filter, you will end up paying for it in the long run both in terms of the impact on your health, and when you have to buy another system that actually does the job you need it to. Read the product specifications and find out exactly how much activated carbon the system contains before making a purchasing decision. Our customers notice improvements in the air quality in their home and their symptoms overnight; check out some reviews of our products here. Click here to choose an air purifier system thats right for your home, to help you and your family breathe more easily and reduce your risk of exposure to harmful smoke this bushfire season.

14.01.2022 The recent bushfire smoke covering large areas of New South Wales and Queensland has highlighted how important air quality is to our health and how much we take the air we breathe for granted. With so many people experiencing the harmful effects of smoke inhalation in Australia and wanting to protect themselves and their families, we have sold out of our air purifiers for the first time in our 17-year history. While we are working overtime to make new units, we have not been... able to manufacture them quickly enough to keep up with this unprecedented demand. This has been really difficult for us on a personal level, as we are really passionate about helping our customers breathe clean air. We sympathise with the needs of our customers, particularly as there are many who suffer life-threatening conditions that are exacerbated by smoke, like cystic fibrosis, lung conditions and asthma. Our heart goes out to everyone in these situations. We have been working tirelessly to speed up production and dispatch orders as quickly as possible, with our staff working overtime, as well as hiring four new staff members to help meet current demands. Thankfully, we have been able to do this because our products are manufactured in Australia. We cannot emphasise enough the importance of buying an air purifier that effectively removes challenging pollutants like bushfire smoke the majority of air purifiers are ineffective in filtering smoke from the air due to the lack of proper filtration media. You can learn more in our blog post: Best air purifiers for smoke removal https://inovaairpurifiers.com.au//best-air-purifiers-for-s. We have been manufacturing air purifiers for more than 17 years for both commercial and residential homes, including supplying Australian embassies and consulates in some of the most polluted countries in the world. We thank you so much for your patience and understanding as we endeavour to keep up with unprecedented demand for our air purifier systems amidst the ongoing bushfires. 13.01.2022 Now more than ever we have customers asking, "Do HEPA filters filter viruses?" It would be rare to find an air purifier where the manufacturer will actually tell you the grade of HEPA filter they are using in their purifier according to a particular standard. This is because few air purifiers would pass efficiency testing to a particular recognised standard such as EN1822. Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) formulated by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers in the U.S....A. is a lower efficiency test and does not focus on ultrafine particles and therefore is not designed for commercial settings or efficiency on particles the size of viruses. The majority of air purifiers you find in stores use synthetic filters and will lose efficiency during the life of the filter, the CADR rating does not take this into account. A tell tale sign a HEPA filter is synthetic is when the manufacturer recommends changing every 6 months of operation. When you buy an air purifier the big question is are you buying 85% filtration or 99.99% and how would you know? Many air purifiers will advertise 99.95% efficiency without stating the micron size. The only way to really tell is verify with the manufacturer if its not clearly written in specifications. H13 and H14 HEPA grades are commonly used in medical applications and H13 is the minimum efficiency HEPA filter which can be used in operating theatres in Australia. When it comes to virus filtration at approx 0.12 microns in size you want to filter which goes as fine as possible. Airborne viruses are usually spread when the virus is aersolised in fine droplets in the air and these are typically 0.5 microns in size and larger. At InovaAir we only use H13/H14 rated HEPA paper in all of our HEPA filters.

13.01.2022 How Accurate Are PM 2.5 and TVOC Air Quality Sensors In Air Purifiers? Free-standing air purifiers with built-in sensors are becoming increasingly popular but there are some important things you need to know about the accuracy and effectiveness of these sensors. At InovaAir we do not incorporate sensors for the reasons discussed below. The sensors are designed to detect larger particles, such as PM 2.5 (2.5 microns), but approximately 98% of airborne particles are less than ...Continue reading

12.01.2022 This video by Dr. Mike Hansen is a great explanation of how the coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads via airborne transmission. The more people understand how the virus spreads through the air, the sooner we can flaten the curve.

12.01.2022 InovaAir is proud to have started supplying the first Hospitals in NSW with commercial air purifiers to assist with infection control measures for COVID-19. As these were required urgently, we have worked hard to reduce the lead time for custom build systems to suit specific applications and dedicated our night shift to prioritising production of these systems. Negative pressure air filtration in infection control settings is nothing new but the unprecedented demand from hos...pitals and healthcare sectors is. Negative pressure environments are used in hospitals to help prevent the spread of infections throughout the facility whereby air is filtered and exhausted to another area such as outside to creative negative pressure. It is important that healthcare workers and patients have the highest levels of air filtration possible to reduce the risk of airborne transmission from aerosols. InovaAir also manufactures freestanding recirculating systems which can be used to assist in spaces where negative pressure is not possible. We are glad that as an Australian manufacturer we are able to respond quickly and we will continue to do so by prioritising production for essential healthcare facilities.

11.01.2022 Particulate matter in the air is becoming more of a problem with the increasing prevalence and intensity of bushfires in Australia, which can lead to serious health issues. Elevated levels of ultrafine airborne particle matter, known as PM2.5, from bushfires (and any other wood smoke) can be extremely harmful to your health. PM 2.5 particles are tiny particles that are small enough to enter your bloodstream and penetrate vital organs, including the brain. At the time of writi...ng this article, PM2.5 levels in Sydney are 30 times above the recommended maximum concentration levels. Too small to be seen, PM 2.5 particles are half the size of most bacteria and smaller than some viruses. A thirtieth as wide as a hair. The finer the particle the worse they are, because the more chance they have of getting into your lungs and bloodstream and causing blood clots and even heart attacks. PM2.5 particles are also present in the air even when there isnt smoke, due to traffic pollution. The World Health Organisation estimates that PM2.5 air pollution is responsible for 3% of deaths from heart disease and 5% of cancer of the trachea, bronchus and lung, and 1% of deaths from acute respiratory infections in children under age 5 worldwide. Inhalation of PM2.5 particles when pregnant is also associated with low birth weight and high blood pressure in children. It can cause inflammation and oxidative stress, disrupt hormones, and impact the ability of oxygen to access the placenta. PM2.5 also contributes to high plaque deposits in arteries and can lead to heart attacks and other heart problems. An increase in estimated annual exposure to PM2.5 has been found to increase the risk of heart attack by 13% The Journal of the American Medical Association also found that death rates climb inexorably when particle pollution rises You can minimise your exposure to particulate matter by wearing a mask when youre outside, and staying indoors when the levels are high, with the doors and windows closed, and filter the air with an air purifier with a medical grade HEPA filter and activated carbon filter. 06.01.2022 The World Health Organization (WHO) has been confronted by more than 230 scientists from over 30 countries by new information regarding COVID-19. In a paper coming soon titled It is Time to Address Airborne Transmission of COVID-19, these scientists present their research regarding the airborne capabilities of the virus and raise awareness about how the virus can spread indoors through aerosols that linger in the air. Until now, WHO has denied such claims and has only foc...used on the spreading through large water droplets that are expelled when an infected individual coughs or sneezes into the open air. However, the research these scientists are presenting appear to show a link between aerosols becoming and remaining airborne for some hours. Not only does the virus attach to these water droplets which fall to the floor, but they also attach to very tiny respiratory particles that can remain suspended in the air and travel up to 8 meters. 06.01.2022 After 3 years of ongoing R&D, InovaAIr has fully updated its line of air purifiers including E7, E8, E20 and DE20 models. The new models include full 5052 marine-grade aluminium body construction. The move from steel to aluminium was aimed at reducing the weight significantly with up to 30% weight savings, making systems easier to transport and change filters. Like the previous models made from steel they are also incredibly durable and will never fade or crack like plastic a...ir purifiers. The Dulux powder coat finish is rated for a minimum of 10 years service in harsh outdoor environments, so you can expect it to last a lifetime indoors. The German-made fans and motors on all new models are completely isolated from the air discharge at the top of the system, resulting in lower noise at higher speeds and higher airflow. All models like the previous one are extremely quiet on lower speeds and designed for operation while sleeping. In an air purifier market dominated by plastic materials which cannot support the weight of high capacity filters, we are excited with the advancements in the new models and proud to be the only air purifier manufacturer in the world using such high-grade materials to build handcrafted air purifiers which are 100% Australian made. Existing customers can rest assured that filters for the new systems are fully compatible with the previous models.
