Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully. With an extensive background in dance and fitness, I always thought yoga would be fun and easy. After my first class I found it was not as easy as I imagined, bu...t the true surprise was the sense of peace and joy I found . I completed my 200hour Hatha Yoga teacher training in 2018 with Shiva Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh, India. I will always be a student of the practice and I am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me. Make sure you are checking in with your body regularly and taking that rest day that your body desperately needs. Saying no to a workout can sometimes be the healthier choice.

21.01.2022 Darcie’s story of surgery and starting over.... Hi, my name is Darcie and I am 18 years old. Like many, I have a huge passion for health and fitness and am on a fitness journey of my own - to reach a goal of feeling super fit and confident in my own body. If I am being completely honest, I did reach this goal in the beginning of June this year. I had a really solid routine, was thriving in all areas of my life and felt so confident with the progress I'd made at the gym! I lov...ed how my body looked and my endurance and fitness levels had increased so much. That's also around the time I got given the job at Input Fitness, and I couldn't have been more ecstatic to work in a place that I genuinely loved being at! Unfortunately in late June I began experiencing quite intense pains in my stomach. Growing up, I've always had the 'tough it out' mentality with sickness so I tried to put up with it as much as I could. However when it got to the point where I was rolling on the floor in agony, we finally decided to go to emergency Long story short, I was suffering a bowel obstruction and had to be rushed into surgery. I spent the next week and a half in hospital recovering. Because of this surgery, my body changed a lot. I had been slouched in bed for over a week straight so my back had hunched over, I lost a lot of weight from not being able to eat and I was incredibly bloated... I looked pregnant lol. Not to mention the nice big vertical cut across my stomach (right through my abs eek). Following the surgery, I had to wait another 2 months before I could begin working out again meaning I lost a lot of muscle and strength, and was basically back to square one. Those two months were quite difficult mentally and physically as my body looked completely different and I felt so weak. The fact that I also couldn't just workout as a hobby was really challenging too. All the confidence I had before had completely disappeared and I began feeling insecure again. Although it was super disappointing to see all my progress be lost, I tried to look at it positively and I decided starting my fitness journey from scratch again wasn't necessarily a bad thing at all. I had gained a lot of knowledge previously that would make this new fitness journey a lot more effective and beneficial and seeing the positive changes to your body is really rewarding, so in a way, I was excited to start over! Sometimes the Universe throws you some crazy stuff - but in the end, everything happens for a reason! I am loving seeing these changes to my body all over again and feeling myself getting fitter and fitter. You know it's working when the MAX sessions seem more doable!!

16.01.2022 Habit tracking is a discipline worth working on... Identify what you would like to improve. Do not try to start too many new habits at once. 1-2 new habits at a time will allow for better results. Set specific actions, for example I want to start with skipping for 1 minute....or 20 pushups.......or a 10 min brisk walk" o Do 5-20mins a day... Collect your data. Keep a diary on when you practice and for how long you practice. Write down your progress, any new things you’ve learned. Prioritizing time for new habits allows less time for old bad habits. Do not take shortcuts. There’s no easy way to begin a new habit. Be intentional and select habits that you WANT to build on. See more

I've always been into physical activities and in my late teens and 20s I did a lot of running. I have always been an avid waterskier/ wakeboarder which I still continue to do, but yet I still became unfit and overweight. I am a tradie and had excuses about being a bit overweight because I would tel...l myself I was tradie fit. That was just a lie to deceive myself into not having to confront the fact that I was really out of shape. But then I let things get even worse, I went through a divorce and over the next couple of years I let myself become even more overweight and really unfit, it got the point where I was ashamed to look at myself in the mirror. I was self-conscious of how out of shape I was when in public. So this is where my current physical journey starts, September this year I decided enough was enough I was not only just going to lose some weight and get back into shape I was going to completely transform my body and mind. They’ve been unreliable since the start and despite ongoing assurances they would reboot or fix glitches in the system repeatedly it has not eventuated. An expensive system criticised by other users/customers for the same failures which have caused our team and members weekly headaches. By end of this month we will have installed the replacement and we expect a permanent solution. From all accounts and customer reviews a much better provider. Not only in the fitness studio but also in the cycle studio. Until then we apologise for letting you down on this end and look forward to giving and getting, value for money.

It is obviously reduced in classes as the instructors take leave and enjoy their Christmas break. The first few weeks will be different and then through Jan will stay the same. 05.01.2022 Tips to make exercise a daily habit Once you have identified your goals and joined the gym, it is then time to be consistent and make showing up a habit. It is much easier said than done, so below are some tips to help you make exercising a daily habit. - Schedule your workouts in advance and know exactly what you will be doing when you arrive at the gym.... - Chose exercises that you enjoy doing. There is more than one way to skin a cat, so if you don’t like one thing, find something you do like. - Try to workout at the same time every day/week. Find a time and day that suits you. This might take some time to iron out, but you will find you enjoy exercising more at a specific time, you just need to do some trial and error. - Don’t be discourage if you miss a day. The whole 21 days to make or break a habit, or any other version of this, is not exactly true and you should disregard it. If you find that after 21 days you are still haven’t established a workout routine, it is NOT time to give up. Keep trying to find what works for you, everybody is capable of committing to a routine and you more than likely have routine in other areas of your life. It is just the matter of fitting you workouts in at a time that suits you. - Keep your workouts and routines realistic and convenient. Take note of your currently routines and spare time and find a way to incorporate the gym. See more

01.01.2022 DARCIE’s PROTEIN PANCAKES Want a more nutritious alternative to normal pancakes? These are the ones for you!! Super quick and easy to make, they taste heavenly and better yet - they’re guilt free! INGREDIENTS: ... 1/3 cup of milk (I use almond milk!) 1/2 cup of oats 2 scoops of protein powder (I use vanilla) 1 banana - the riper the better! 1 egg dash of water And that’s it!! PROCEDURE (super duper easy): blend all ingredients - or if you prefer, you can just mash the banana and stir in the ingredients! I prefer the smooth, pancake texture heat up pan on low add some (or a lot of) butter start cooking those pancakes!! These pancakes don’t get as many bubbles on top as normal ones so I usually just flip them when the surface has started to cook a little Of course, top with your favourite toppings! Don’t be afraid to eat the whole plate!! After all, there’s not a lot of ingredients in them! ~ Darcie
