24.01.2022 Camp Koala - Type 1. The dream of having a Lions Youth Exchange Camp started 3 years ago from a conversation with a Lions member who told me of the difficulties... experienced by her teenage diabetic daughter. Jaco we did it! We have camp full of new Friendships and they’ve learnt whilst having fun. Let me introduce you to just some of the team this week. Isabel Reeves our Lead Diabetes Nurse Educator & Type 1. Caroline Smith - camp Mum & Type 1. Noah Stott - male mentor & Type 1. #LionsAustralia #LionsYouthExchang #Type1Foundation #CarolineSmith #NoahStott #IsabelReeves See more

20.01.2022 Camp Koala - Type 1 for youth 15-18 with Type 1 diabetes. A key goal of the camp is to unite the youth and create lasting friendships. To create a spirit of und...erstanding among the people of the world, specifically Australia at the moment. Goals are being achieved daily with the sounds of laughter. Thanks you so much to all the Lions Clubs that have supported this camp. See more

10.01.2022 What a group! I've said it before and I'll say it again but in this group of amazing looking people, most of them beep and truly, that's what makes all of these people even better! They test, they have continuous glucose monitors, the inject and they have insulin pumps and this makes them incredible to me. These people are resilient, confident, smart, supportive and kind and I am privileged to call them my friends. Happy Thursday friends!

02.01.2022 It has been a busy couple of weeks at InRange head quarters. On Friday I had such a good day seeing a full list of clients and supporting them to better manage their diabetes and/or their mental health with Diabetes. My clients make me so happy! All of them progress in their own way and have difficulties in their own areas but they all teach me so much about Diabetes as well, so, thank you! Today I am masked up as I am @canberra_airport heading to VIC to volunteer at a @lio...nsclubs T1D youth camp (15 to 18 year olds) and I can't wait! It is going to be so much fun meeting, supporting and doing activities with t1d's from around Australia and I'm so grateful for this exciting opportunity! Can't wait to catch up with @thet1dnutritionist in real life too!! I so love when people with T1D outnumber the non T1D's in the room and with approx 20 kids we are going to be doing that everywhere for a week! I'm ready for a lot of testing, a lot of beeping, a moderate quantity of low treatments but more so A LOT of FUN! Have a beautiful Sunday friends! We'll be meeting and greeting new kids at @campkoala4kids from 2pm today! Wish me luck and send lots of happy and positive diabetes vibes for the week!!

02.01.2022 What is the most important support to your T1D? *Your Diabetes Educator? *Your Endocrinologist? *The juice?... *Milk and biscuits? *Lollies *Snakes *Smart watch? *CGM *Medic alert *Supportive friends *Friendship with other T1D's All of these things are more important at different times and all have different value to different people but hands down, the hypo treatments and continuous glucose monitoring are two essentials that I have a hard time living without! What would a trip to Queenscliff, VIC be without a trip to the pick n mix Lollie shop? The mentors, teens and health professionals at the @lionsaustralia T1 foundation diabetes camp made more than a few trips here! I am stocked up on sour lollies that should last me a few weeks! This week, 25 other people with T1D and some without have created friendships that will last forever, we have developed a new and delightful support system and helped to raise awareness about T1D. Thank you to @lionsaustralia for supporting this idea of two beautiful ladies, you have changed these people's experience of diabetes, you have significantly improved their confidence and their future and you have shaped their world for the better! I can't wait for the next one!
