Its little known and from my experience, theyre little used by many businesses, but clicks from Google can cost as low as $1 and when youre turning those clicks into the exchange of a potential customers email that may become a paying customer soon, then the ROI is looking super good! Let me explain further if your average total value per sale is $60, and you're getting ...clicks for $1 on Google to your website, which leads to a sale, then, we can say that it costs you $1 in advertising (for a click), that makes you $60 (on average, in sales) that means youre $59 up! 19.01.2022 A scribble* of how ROI for non e-commerce sites can work. Consider the car to be representative of any product or service and consider book a test drive to be synonymous with any entry-level encounter with your product or service e.g. initial consultation, book an appointment, free trial, download white paper/e-book, initial call or meet with a salesperson, pre-screening questionnaire, register for webinar, etc. The flowchart explains the costs involved at ea...ch point of a simple process from the social post to the offline sale. At each stage you have a cost incurred and an effect on the number of customers coming through the funnel this is based on average conversion rates. There are two things to consider along the process the costs involved, and the total sales made from the process. > The costs involved include: any management fees, the cost of the building of the video to use in the social ad, and the cost of the social post advertising which could be as low as $15 per 1000 users reached. > On the other side of the scale, the sales are estimated and derived by understanding how many users are reached with the social ad, then from social to web you have a conversion percentage where you may lose a number of potential customers, the average is a 1% CTR from social to web that is 1% of reached users on social will click through to the website. Then there will be a conversion rate of web visitors to those that agree to book a test drive, this figure would be dependent on your business and website functionality; then there would be another drop off of customers due to a conversion rate of users who bought the car, out of the total that booked the test drive; and thats it! Now you can calculate the whole process from social to sale (either before you start as an estimation, or after to understand what stage needs optimizing). Then the ROI is the total expense made along the way against the total sales made from this process. If $1000 was the total expense and 1 car sale (valued at $20,000) was made off the back of this campaign, then we can say that the ROI is $20,000 for $1000 invested, or $20 in sales for every $1 of investment. $20:$1 ROI is phenomenal. Hello, social! Of course, this process isnt always clear when other factors effect the sales too, but by matching online metrics (e.g. social reach, CTR, or those who booked a test drive) to the final sale (online or offline), against the total investment, or at the very least against advertising spend, we can then attempt to put a dollar figure of ROI onto our social marketing system. If Google Adwords is something you want to master and you are the type to delve into the technical side of marketing and advertising tech, then this book is more than a great start. I dont think theres a business that wouldnt benefit from Google Adwords (with the right strategy), in some way!
