19.01.2022 Exciting times ahead!

13.01.2022 Children often connect to complex concepts through analogies. In sessions this term, a Grade 2 girl worked on noticing her disappointed feelings rather than angry feelings. When things don’t go our way, we are often disappointed, not angry, but anger responses can become a habit, and quickly whip up a storm of behaviours. This little girl worked on inserting rain clouds rather than thunder storms when she does not get what she wants or when things don’t go to plan. What a beautiful set of pictures for such an important part of her emotional development. #OT #occupationaltherapy #childmentalhealth #emotionalregulation #emotionalresilience #perthsmallbusiness
