25.01.2022 Awesome news from Anna this evening! "Hi Jane Thank you for all your advice and for your amazing Fastrack programme.... I recently received my first job interview .The interview was for a part-time reception position. Out of 152 candidates only 10 were chosen for an interview.... ....the job interview was a great experience and I am sure you had a lot to do with me obtaining the interview, by putting me on the right track. Kind Regards Anna" Know someone who needs help? You can access my online program here.....#jobinterviews #winning

24.01.2022 "Employers wanting to hire top candidates are looking for a number of qualities, among them confidence and self-assurance. Yet posting numerous selfies sends the opposite message. In an article for Psychology Today, Dr. Pamela Rutledge, Director of the Media Psychology Research Centre in Boston, Massachusetts, states, Preoccupation with selfies can be a visible indicator of a young person with a lack of confidence or sense of self that might make him or her a victim of other problems as well. 23.01.2022 I once went out for dinner with a guy who had asked me out. He was a friend of a friend and he was funny, friendly and a good looking guy so I thought sure, he seems nice. So we met up at a nice place in town but when I arrived he had a backpack with him. I thought was a bit odd, but went with it. So we ordered an entre and I asked him if hed just come from the gym. He said no, he had brought his bag assuming the night would go well. and he laughed. #personalbranding #socialselling #digitalbranding http://jane-anderson.com.au/weve-just-met/

21.01.2022 Its that time of year again! Specialist Medical Interviews are on in Sydney today and tomorrow! Over the last 2 months I have been working with 9 aspiring Dermatologists vying for 4 positions in QLD. These are some of the most dedicated and hardworking people I have met in my life. Their stories of how they make a difference to the sick and vulnerable in our society are incredible. Its hard knowing that not everyone will get a position this year but heres to wishing them confidence and being the best they can be in a 25 mins interview. #interviews #medical #dermatology

20.01.2022 The power of social media and getting your work out there amazes me every day. Last week I wrote an article on LinkedIn called "The 7 Steps to Likeability". A journalist in New York picked it and quoted me which created a lot of interest in it, today it stands at over 7000 views. This afternoon I received a request from a French Magazine asking if they could translate and publish if for their audience. The world is so much smaller than we think... dont be afraid to share your expertise #thoughtleadership #inspire

20.01.2022 I recently attended an event of a spiritual speaker and two thirds of those questions asked were about how to make a break from their jobs into their own businesses. And this was at a spiritual event.

18.01.2022 This is an exciting week for my family as were in the process of getting organised for my sisters wedding this weekend. Shes marrying her lovely fianc Ben.

16.01.2022 In the sea of overwhelm with information, it can be hard to know what to do with LinkedIn for specific industries. Thought Leaders have a unique opportunity to showcase themselves and their perspective on LinkedIn far more than any other profile. By Thought Leaders I mean speakers, authors, trainers, coaches, mentors, facilitators and consultants.

15.01.2022 Great interview question. How often does this happen at work!? #career #interviewskills

12.01.2022 Woohoo! So proud of Cassandra who did soooo much work preparing for her interview today. Go girl!!!! #jobinterview #standoutfromthecrowd

11.01.2022 According to most studies, peoples number one fear is public speaking. Number two is death. Death is number two. Does that sound right? This means to the average person, if you go to a funeral, youre better off in the casket than doing the eulogy. So true isnt it? #presentations #impact http://jane-anderson.com.au/add-some-oomph-to-your-present/

10.01.2022 What a fab day of delivering my new "Powerful Presentations" workshop today to a mix of Engineers, HR and IT teams. Everyone managed to trim their content down to key messages, a couple of clear points, great images and some wonderful stories to make their presentations more interesting. So much fun seeing people come to life in the spotlight and have a fun time learning! Shattered now though :-) #powerfulpresentations #haveimpact

09.01.2022 As a Career Counsellor and Executive Coach I see these issues every day. I have written blog on job in over supply of graduates in Pharmacy and it has taken years for universities to reduce the amount of positions available. There are a number of challenges that create this situation. Universities are focussed on funding and therefore work on demand for courses. I believe the government needs to hold universities accountable for these figures. School Career Advisors need more... education on roles that actually get jobs to support students and parents in decision making. The removal of funding for the "Good Guides Job Guide" this year does not help this situation at all. Finally I believe universities need to arm their students with how to manage their personal branding in the world. I spend time in a number of universities educating graduates on how to sell and market themselves and manage their online behaviour. There are also a number of programs in universities that dont arm students with the correct skills for todays jobs. For example PR is one of the most challenging jobs to get. There is a trend showing that those in this field are more likely to get jobs in content curation for social media. This requires teaching far more IT skills as traditional PR is becoming less. Thank you for raising the awareness on this issue as we see clients who have completed years of hard work and study to find themselves without work and its very frustrating for them and their families because they thought they were doing the right thing by going to university. I believe that all stakeholders have a role in this to manage expectations of students and keep Australia productive as a nation. #career #personalbranding See more

08.01.2022 Last week I worked with a client called Jason. Hes spent 15 years in corporate life as a Business Analyst and enjoys the work he does but finds he gets itchy feet every 18 months or so. He finds it hard to connect with his boss as he always cancels his 1-1 meetings and hes not really feeling like hes achieving his potential.

07.01.2022 What is your word for this quarter? Mines "UPGRADE". Im upgrading my website, upgrading some tools, programs and resources for clients. The benefit of upgrading puts you into a more abundant headspace of positioning for your future. What can you upgrade from a feeling of being in economy to first class? They dont have to be big things....Perhaps a new chair at work? A new mouse pad? Choose something you use a lot so you get to enjoy it more regularly and stay in the space longer #upgrade

06.01.2022 Phew, that was fast! I just did a Tweet Chat this morning on all things LinkedIn. Some great questions from across the world! If youd like to see the feed, follow this link: https://twitter.com/hashtag/ExecCareer

06.01.2022 Had a fabulous lunch with Lesley ODonaghue to listen to Will Walker speak. If youre not a cyclist, Will was on the world stage and his life changed after having heart failure. His story was so inspiring, if you get a chance to listen to him speak go for it, he was humble, authentic and vulnerable. #cycling

06.01.2022 "Awards create scarcity and set you apart. Scarcity challenges your customer to make a decision quickly, or in many cases makes them want to be part of that special group."

05.01.2022 I don’t know about you, but after seeing the issues that celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence had with their personal photos being leaked led to me being really concerned about private files. Not that I have anything bad (I don’t think!), but it prompted me to go and get some more detailed advice. When I’m nervous about something it tells me I need to understand it more!

02.01.2022 Earlier this month Don Meij, the CEO of Dominos, shared this image. Don and a team outside one of his companys European branches with the caption Enjoying Europe store visits Claude worked for us in operations for 10 years and is now a new Franchisee. Did that caption set out to promote Don or was it suggesting Buy a franchise from us? Perhaps it was meant to suggest Dominos are achieving world domination in Pizzas? No.

02.01.2022 This week I worked with an inspiring doctor called Sarah. She trains students and speaks at conferences on identifying particular conditions that can easily be overlooked. She is an avid art lover and told me about a painting she purchased online from the US last year. She fell in love with it immediately as it was the scene of an older lady with two children and a cat in a garden. It was almost the exact scene from when she grew up with her brother playing in their grandmothers garden while she watched them. The cat even looked the same! It was a scene that was so familiar to her, she just had to buy it.
