24.01.2022 Congratulations to WAIS artistic swimmer Hannah Burkhill on her selection to the Australian Olympic Team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. "This is a dream come true, Ive wanted this for so long," Burkhill said. "In 2012 I had just started competing and I was so excited to see the Olympic Team in person in their lead-up and watching them compete at the London Olympics. I still cant believe Ill be at my own Games next year. "Its been such a crazy year and this moment is so... happy but also bittersweet. After just missing out on the initial selection in February, Im so glad to have another opportunity, but sad that Rose wont be with the team next year. Mick Murray MLA to the WAIS High Performance Service Centre today for a demonstration of our new above and underwater multi-camera motion analysis system. The series of cameras can analyse block starts and turns, allowing our team so assess breakout, turn and glide for immediate feedback to optimise technique and race strategy. Dual Olympian and London 2012 medallist Blair Evans was the first to be tested by Dr Aaron ...Balloch PhD, our swimming Technical Performance Specialist with a demonstration of the technology for the Minister. The WAIS swimming program is set to benefit from this as they work towards next years Olympic selection trials. 23.01.2022 A second place finish at the Giro d'Italia saw Jai Hindley make history as the first Western Australian to stand on the final podium of a grand tour and just the third Australian in history after Cadel Evans and Richie Porte.
