25.01.2022 Hi everyone! I want to sincerely thank you all for the overwhelming amount of support and interest shown towards my new business venture. Unfortunately COVID-19 has put the brakes on kicking off my courses but its important we stay safe. At this stage I am still reluctant to set dates for upcoming courses as I feel timeframes are still very uncertain. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Keep your eye on my page for some little first aid reminders and handy hints.

24.01.2022 CHOKING.. one of the most terrifying and life threatening emergencies Here are some little helpful hints to remember if you encounter someone who is choking (has a foreign body airway obstruction).. Firstly - prevention!! If you have small children, be mindful of food that are of similar shape to the airway. Grapes, Lollies, Nuts, Hotdogs, Meat etc . Cut them up or avoid them! Ok, someone is choking.. what do you do?... 1. CAN THEY COUGH?? Encourage them to cough or let them continue to cough.. Send for help. 2.CAN'T COUGH BUT CONSCIOUS? Send for Help, Preferable someone else if possible. Act quickly to deliver Back blows. Use gravity if possible (infant facedown, child/adult lean forward), deliver a sharp hard blow to the middle of the upper back with the hard part of the palm of your hand. Repeat 5 times. No success? Delivery chest thrust.. similar to CPR but one sharp blow to the centre of the upper chest. Repeat 5 times. Continue to alternate between 5 x back blows , 5 x chest thrust until airway clears or person becomes unconscious. 3. UNCONSCIOUS? Make sure someone or yourself has called 000. Begin CPR. Common mistakes... if you can see the food/object easily - attempt to scoop it out with your fingers. IF YOU CANT SEE IT, DO NOT PUT OUR FINGERS DOWN THE PERSONS THROAT. You may push the object/food further down and wedge it further.

19.01.2022 EASTER IS ALMOST HERE!!! I love Easter Eggs and the mini eggs are my fav! BUT.... do you see a similarity here? (and yes I just ate these) Do you have small children at home?
