25.01.2022 Back from Operation Flinders and fully recovered. It was an amazing experience. Working with the group to achieve close to 100 KM of walking in the Flinders carrying backpacks with, food for the day, clothing and sleeping gear was challenging, physically, mentally and emotionally. I walked with a Team Leader from Sydney, a young Peer Group Mentor (PGM), two female support staff and 10 girls (ages 13-17) made up the rest of the group. As a first walk I think I was blessed to have the group I did. The leadership team and the girls were amazing. No one gave up, we all discovered a deeper resource within ourselves to push on, to take that next step up and to finish the day strong. Needless to say we all learnt something about ourselves during the walk. I will be doing it again next year for sure.
