25.01.2022 Honouring our Music Therapy clients, their families and the many organizations who generously support MT services in so many ways. Our profession in Australia continues to grow in number, its policy and strategic planning and research based practice. 24.01.2022 Creatively sharing ideas for supervision approaches with AAOS members in Sydney last week. Nothing like running three mini supervision sessions back to back to get the ideas flowing!!
22.01.2022 Examples from our recent creative supervision workshop. Such diversity when we connect with our senses!
22.01.2022 Point 4 stands out for me - "tell me about the kind of supervision you provide ". How about you? What types of questions have you asked or would like to ask in an interview?
20.01.2022 Important MT research in the area of dementia care being carried out right now across the globe!
16.01.2022 Happy World Music Therapy Day! Here's to fostering healthy connections through music #worldmusictherapyday
15.01.2022 Come join Tania Balil and I for our final session for 2018 and set aside some time to creatively explore whatever is impacting your work at this time. You never know...... it might just be what you need!
14.01.2022 "Sometimes standing and moving can be more useful than sitting and talking." This was the opening line from a great supervision workshop I recently attended facilitated by Roger Lowe as part of AAOS CPD. Much food for thought about how we can benefit experientially by exploring systemic constellations in supervision: the people, teams, organisations that impact all of us in our daily work.
14.01.2022 Excited to announce the first of two upcoming creative supervision workshops in 2019 with Tania Balil and myself under the umbrella of the Sydney Centre for Creative Change as part of their continuing PD in creative therapies in Australia. Looking forward to this new collaboration and opportunity to support professionals in their learning https://www.artandplaytherapytraining.com.au/creative_arts_
13.01.2022 An interesting read. What does supervision practice in music therapy look like? Do we share similar stories to social work? What might we need to change within supervision practices and processes as our profession grows?
13.01.2022 Inspiring conversations about supervision with music therapy students at Western Sydney University yesterday.... great to be a part of this as they complete their training and become RMTs in 2020!
12.01.2022 Finalising places for our final session for 2018 so please email me if interested. For all those who have previously expressed their interest, please contact me to reserve your place. Look forward to professionally supporting your work practice!
12.01.2022 Great work being conducted by my MT colleagues in Melb in dementia care.
12.01.2022 Looking for new ways to experience and understand your supervision practice? Upcoming workshops in March in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne
12.01.2022 How do you connect with music? Who do you connect with through music? What happens to your mind, body and spirit when you connect with and through music? These are questions I sat with as I prepared this year to launch my new music therapy program at Grow Medical, Highgate Hill: SongLife Connections. This program extends on my previous work with Song and Sensory and now includes a focus on how group music therapy with families supports sustainable community connections. These photos show some of the chapters of my SongLife Connections: a family radio used in my cot as a child; singing songs with mum using a tape recorder and today connecting with my family in a home that is immersed in song in some shape or form every day! Grateful for new beginnings and opportunities. #musictherapy #musicandhealth #musicandwellbeing
10.01.2022 Supporting the creative exploration of the supervision space today with professionals from all walk of life. What an honour!
10.01.2022 An interesting read for those looking to stay fresh in their career. Especially love point 2 - "ditch the 'should do' and take a risk" - a topic often raised in professional supervision.
09.01.2022 All ready for a fully booked creative supervision today with Tania Balil! #sydneycentrecreativechange #supervision
07.01.2022 Grateful for this opportunity to present with AAOS supervision colleagues at their CPD event tomorrow.
01.01.2022 Feeling invigorated and blessed for this opportunity today to facilitate a supervision workshop on reflective practice. The scenery was an added bonus!
