14.01.2022 "Omnipotent grandiosity is a structure of the defense mechanism and sadly it marks the way people come to conceive of gurus, predictions of cataclysm, pole shifts, etc. People start out defending themselves against a real threat, then their method of defense becomes far more dangerous and primal than the threat." 03.01.2022 On purpose..the more I'm engaged in my purpose the less neuroses I have.

02.01.2022 We need contact, it is essential for our health. It activates the lungs (Knight) and in Chinese medicine they handle the functioning of all physiological proces...ses, plus our positivity. Being with people is so important that isolation is used as a punishment. When I’m stuck in front of the computer all day it impacts my mood and motivation, (even with my hourly squats to keep chi flowing!) but as soon as I’m with people I feel an uplift because the lungs move blood and activate processes that boost positivity. Lack of contact can weaken your lungs and create sadness (the lung’s emotion). Plenty of us have seen how lockdowns and #WFH can make us sad and moody. You can’t treat this psychologically. Contact is fundamental for shaping and identifying our ‘self’ (lungs also provide a sense of identity). So the takeaway is: appreciate everyone around you a bit more, even if you think they are a doofus, it’s good for your health and theirs. 01.01.2022 We are often quick to say ‘just calm down’ or ‘stay calm’ to people but it is easier said than done. The issue is that all six yang meridians meet in the head k...eeping the brain super busy, but there are no yin meridians in the head to balance that. Being calm requires the body because this is where the yin meridians are. Being calm is an energetic process, it requires the deliberate activation of yin meridians. Putting your attention into the legs (in particular the calves) is a guaranteed way to introduce calm. The chi-gung posture of hugging the tree, or horse stance, is great for this. If you stand with your legs slightly bent, spine straight and arms held in front as if you were hugging a tree, and put all your attention on sinking into your legs, all that yang (overactive mind) descends into your legs. You can let the energy in your shoulders (another major yang accumulation point eg tight shoulders) also sink into your legs. This automatically relaxes the breathing and it becomes deep and slow (calming) rather than shallow and short. The more you practice this posture the more it becomes a habit which then instinctively takes over when you are faced with stressful situations. You immediately sink your attention into your legs and activate yin meridians to provide the head with yin chi to control the overactive yang chi: the result is you naturally stay calm. As a calm state of mind is a prerequisite for health and happiness, doing a little bit of chi-gung every day is an investment not only in your health but also your sanity and peace of mind. So instead of saying ‘be calm’, we should say ‘sink into your legs and move yin up to your head’. See more
