24.01.2022 Life is amazing and moments of bliss are real, but also know that the lows are real and inevitable for all of us. Take what you need, learn from your feelings and focus on being a better person right now, in this moment. Don't dwell on the past or stress yourself over the future - they are an illusion. All we have is right now. Here is the thing about personal growth - "APPLIED knowledge is power" (you can read and know, but if you aren't applying the knowledge learned, yo...u are wasting your time). This is the world of information, there is nothing standing in the way of you and giving yourself the gift of knowledge. You can figure out what works for you once you try it on for size! When you know and accept that you are out of balance in your life, you are able to heal, to act from an informed place and in the polar opposite way that you acted before. Break the cycle. Shift the pattern. GROW! May you have the courage to break the patterns in your life that are no longer serving you. If you need help and someone to hold you accountable to take action, DM me or visit my website (link in bio). Stay inspired Mandy

23.01.2022 Results don't show up until we do Most of the time we know exactly what we can do for the betterment of our lives but we don’t do it. Why? Because it tends to be slightly outside of our comfort zone . People often dislike the idea that most of the time we don’t do what is the BEST for us, we dothe thing we are most FAMILIAR with.... You can have the best intentions in the world, but in the end, the only way to actually get results and make a difference in health, fitness or weight is by taking action . For you, maybe it’s going out in nature, getting a workout in, meditating, clearing the air with a friend, going to therapy. Only you know. When you look back at something you did for the betterment of yourself, regardless of the effort, have you ever said ah shit, wish I didn’t do that?! Comment below if you're going to take 100% responsibility for your actions, your future and your health!

21.01.2022 Don't forget to stretch! Almost everybody from office workers to atheletes can benefit from stretching. People typically migrtae toward activities they're good at. If you're flexible, you probably don't mind stretching, but if you aren't flexible, the thought alone is enough to tie you in knots (pun intended).... Here are my tips on how to stretch if you hate stretching: ENTERTAIN YOURSELF AS YOU STRETCH Turn on the TV, listen to a podcast or your favourite playlist as you stretch or start to use the foam-roller, making time pass by faster. SNEAK IN STRETCHES WHILE YOU'RE DOING SOMETHING ELSE Next time you're waiting for the bus or the microwave do a heel-to-bum stretch for the quads, or a calf stretch and a hamstring stretch. STOP THINKING OF STRETCHING AS A STAGNANT ACTIVITY If you get bored easily, try dynamic stretching that keeps you moving, as opposed to stagnant stretches that you do sitting down. MAKE IT SOCIAL There are all sorts of classes that focus on deep stretching, such as pilates and restorative yoga.

18.01.2022 Being healthy is so much more than eating more veggies or being more physically active Health is a lifelong journey, the route is always changing and it's definitely not a straight line. It is all of the things (big and small) that positively impact our body, mind, environment and soul If you’ve got the healthy eating thing down pat, but are still struggling to maintain weight, have trouble sleeping, out of balanced hormones or any other health concern, it’s time ...to evaluate your stress. Many of us are living in chronic fight or flight mode and don’t even realise it. Research shows chronic stress can hamper the body’s ability to regulate inflammation, which leads to an impaired immune system and increased risk of infection and chronic disease. Chronic stress can also lead to an inability to digest and eliminate food There are many practices that can help mitigate stress - yoga, exercise, meditation, and breathwork just to name a few, but the most powerful way to prevent stress starts in your mind MIND. There is no such thing as a life without stressors. However, you can CHOOSE how to perceive those stressors - will it be something that makes your blood boil or something to laugh at? That is up to you. Where do you need help managing the stressors in your life? See more

16.01.2022 One of the healthiest (and most affordable) things you can do is cook your own food. The food you consume becomes the raw materials for your mind and body. If you outsource the preparation of your meals to most restaurants, you are likely consuming cheap cellularly destructive oils along with creating a surplus of waste (particularly take out) at a premium price. ... The one thing I am always hearing from my clients is "I don't know how to cook", or "I have no idea what to cook". Cooking doesn't have to be stressful and unpleasant. By learning some new cooking and planning techniques, you can take control and be in charge of what goes into your body and be a super parent who nourishes their family too! #bonus If you need help making this happen I've got your back! Take charge of your health this year with my 1/2 day Kitchen and Pantry Consultation! You'll get: * A complete pantry and fridge overhaul with a list of alternative items provided. * Shopping trip to explore healthy food options and tips on how to navigate your local grocery store. * In home kitchen cookery class to create 3-5 snacks or dishes for the week ahead. Send me a DM for pricing and availability.

16.01.2022 Cook once, eat twice...or more! I find when I chat to my clients, cooking itself isn’t always the drag, it’s more the set up and clean up. So why not utilise that mess for more than one meal at a time? Of course, that mathematical equation isn’t accurate if you’re cooking for more than yourself but you get the gist, right? Take some time at the beginning of the week to chop up veggies and store them in the fridge. Then you can quickly add to your recipes or to serve on the si...de. Make double the amount of pasta sauce. Have a serving for dinner and put a pot of brown rice on to have with lunch tomorrow. Separate out and refrigerate the portion to be served for your next meal before you set the food on the table. If you want something sweet, prep it now when all the dinner ingredients are out so it’s just one simple swift clean up... you get the picture! All about efficiency and less time spent cleaning. On the weekends, I like to make double or triple batches of pancakes, muffins or raw slices which I can then freeze and use for quick breakfasts and snacks during the busy week. And of course, one of the easiest ways to save time is to simply plan for leftovers (or repurpose them). Hope this acts as a reminder to you too!! See more

15.01.2022 You don't need to have it all figured out You just need to know the next step and then do it! The headlights of your car only illuminate a few meters in front of you, but their light can take you on a journey of a thousand miles.... Trying to have it all figured out can eat away at your motivation and cause anxiety. You only need to clearly see what is directly in front of you to keep moving. If what you can do feels small and insignificant, it's not, just START. Start with one intentional step. Either you will figure out what works or figure out what doesn't so you can try something new next time. At least then you know you are one step closer to your dream. Focus on progress, not perfection. Be gentle with yourself, making mistakes is normal (you're human). Don't forget to celebrate the little wins along the way What is the next best step towards your dream? See more

06.01.2022 I'll be the first to admit, I'm not great at saying "no" - and I'm not alone. Many of us struggle with people pleasing or setting way too high expectations of ourselves. Saying "no" is a form of self-care in every situation in which you would have said "yes" to please someone else. Your time and energy are precious, love yourself enough to set boundaries. We all have freewill and the ability to say "yes" or "no" and therefore agree to participate in or not participate in... opportunities we are presented with or we make up in our own heads. In today's society, many of us are so driven by productivity and trying to be everything for everyone. This leads to unhealthy, burnt out people with no energy. Here are a few steps to help if you struggle to set boundaries: -Before you say yes, always make sure you're not saying no on the inside - listen to your gut! -Start watching the way you speak and think - notice when you say things like "I have to" or "I need to". Replace this language with "I choose to" and if it isn't something you're choosing to do, then why the hell are you doing it? You made a choice at some point in your life to be doing the things you feel like you "have to", take responsibility and own your choices or change them! -Understand that your boundaries are there to help you be at your best - when you're not at your best, you are less good to those you are trying to help -You will be more empowered to help others when you take time out to help yourself -Practise responding politely and honestly about what you can and can't commit to Remember you can still help people without destroying yourself and sacrificing all your energy! 06.01.2022 Our bodies and minds are capable of miraculous things, most of which are completely unconscious to us and happen without needing a single thought. I mean just think about this for a second: your heart beats more than 101 thousand times a day to pump more than 5 litres of blood per minute, your blood will travel more than 19 thousand kilometres in the next 24 hours. Your brain has about 100 billion neurons that’s about the number of stars there is in the Milky Way Galaxy.... As you finish reading this post, your body will have made 300 million cells. Each of the 37 trillion cells that make up your body, execute somewhere between 100 thousand to 6 trillion functions per second! You’ll inhale 2 million litres of oxygen today, and each time you inhale, that oxygen will be distributed to every cell in your body within seconds. How much does your brilliant machine of a body have to love you, and want for you to survive to love you into life? It’s time we show our bodies that we love them back. Take care of yourself. Always. No excuses. You are your home. See more

04.01.2022 Vanilla Caramel Protein Pancakes These protein pancakes are easy to make and have no refined grains, no refined sugar, and pack a great nutritional punch with oats, banana, eggs, hemp seeds and loads of healthy proteins. I use @atpscience NoWay Vanilla Caramel Protein. NOWAY is a hydrolysed collagen protein. As we age, collagen declines progressively. Collagen is a very important protein that makes up our connective tissues, ligaments, tendons, fascia, gut wall, scalp, der...mis, nail beds, joints and so much more. I like to make a batch of these at the start of the week for a nutritious, protein filled snack. If I prepare something like these for a snack during the week, I am less likely to settle for sugar filled junk. LINK TO RECIPE IN BIO ON WEBSITE! 03.01.2022 What is your natural stress response and what can you learn from it? When you’re stressed, the brain’s adrenal medulla releases a cascade of stress hormones that flood the body within seconds. These stress hormones stimulate your sympathetic nervous system, which rapidly redirects the blood from your organs to your muscles so you can defend yourself (FIGHT) or run (FLIGHT). You may experience an increase in body tension, change in temperature, increase in heart rate,... shaking, sweating and flushes. Overtime FIGHT looks like chronic irritability, anger, and aggressiveness whereas FLIGHT looks like fear, worry, and avoidance. If FIGHT/FLIGHT is not enough to defend us from the threat at hand, we may go into FREEZE. The dorsal vagal system in the body. The body freezes, and at the extreme end may completely shut off (you see this with animals that appear to be "playing dead"). Over time, a dominant FREEZE response feels like depression, hopelessness, and shame. It is important to know your natural reaction to stress (whether perceived or real) because if you know how you may react, you can prepare yourself to respond differently next time. My natural reaction is to fight. I can get defensive, aggressive, restless and feel like I want to lash out verbally or physically. Understanding and recognising this in myself has helped me in my relationships, in my own mental stability and my overall happiness.
