24.01.2022 Our Community extends to our relationships with our University partners and it’s students through our student prac programs. Our prac programs are designed to provide a very real and honest view into what private practice looks like within allied health. Is it an approach that everyone will like ? To be honest no, it’s not for everyone. In saying that, private practice is not for everyone.... We would rather you find out before you finish. We believe it will help you find the best career direction for you.

23.01.2022 So youve bought a new foam roller from the team at HART Sport What comes next Well firstly understand that while foam rolling can be and adjunct to helping with training it isnt an outright solution to anything. Just like many aspects of training its the accumulative impacts of multiple areas that make the difference If you are lounging around in front of the TV though here is a simple sequence that can help keep your lower body ticking over ... NB. Complete each for 60s

22.01.2022 Do you ever get discomfort under your knees ? Have you had a sudden big increase in your exercise intensity ? This might be for you

22.01.2022 Communication is a never ending focus for our team. The best allied health professionals are those that have a wealth of theoretical understanding, an ability to practically relay the theory and most importantly communicate the process in a digestible fashion that the client can understand and relate to. If you as our clients don't understand WHY we are doing what we are doing, and HOW it benefits you the chances of a great result are limited !

19.01.2022 Gym isn’t for me This is the sentence we will hear from prospective clients every now and then. Here’s the thing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Health isn’t about how much you can lift. ... Health is about the way you feel everyday. The thoughts and story you tell yourself internally. The relationships you have with the people you care about. The way in which you live true to your values everyday. We can help you create structures and plans no matter who you are and what you enjoy, so that you can be the healthiest version of you. It’s what we do

19.01.2022 The SAID principle of training What does this mean Specific ... Adaptation Imposed Demands To put it simply the narrower you focus and apply your training to your goal the more specifically the adaptation will occur. Train general for general results, train specific for specific results

19.01.2022 Outcome Based Programming Everyone always talks about the need for training specifically when it comes to achieving goals. So how do you actually do that Well here is how we go about it

18.01.2022 The client practitioner relationship is a two way street built on respect. The ability to listen and be honest with eachother is critical. 18.01.2022 To be a successful Inspire practitioner there is one thing that is a non negotiable. You must be a person who is constantly striving to be better both personally and professionally. 18.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day A conversation can be all the difference

17.01.2022 So many times we see people get so disheartened by missing one training sessions or not having a great training session. If your goal is to improve your physical health, no matter the context, just understand that 1 bad day has almost NO impact on your overall result (providing you are for the most part consistent). Getting too emotional about the micro sessions can lead to long term disappointment. Next time this happens to you just remember, what you accumulate across a month is significantly more important than how you go on any one given day.

12.01.2022 Rigid vs Rock Tape ! The main difference between rigid + rock taping is that the rock taping will stretch where the rigid wont. Rigid taping is used to limit movement/provide passive stability/structure to a joint. ... Rock tape is used to facilitate + support muscles/tendons/joints. Generally speaking kinesio taping is used when only light support is required at the joint/to facilitate muscle activation rather than full, heavy support to protect ligaments/tendons. Both can be very useful in their own way but are not interchangeable so always use as directed by your allied health professional.

12.01.2022 Session structure when it comes to exercise can play a big role in overall success. Depending on your goals and the desired outcomes of each session the optimal structure may differ. Generally speaking at Inspire our session's for improving overall health outcomes will include; 1) mobility component ... 2) stability activation component 3) primary & accessory lift sequences 4) recovery recommendations Through these 4 channels we are able to get the most bang for buck in our time with you as we work towards your goal !

07.01.2022 Patella Tendinopathy Getting pain under the knee cap This might be for you Tune in and lend an to physio Bobby Haugh

07.01.2022 So it's the weekend and you want to have a few sherbets without negating your training progress (too much). Take the below points into account with your alcohol; 1. Alcohol does not replace food - although rich in energy, alcohol doesnt have other needed nutrients 2. In excess alcohol encourages muscle breakdown and fat storage 3. Alcohol can negatively impacts the following days exercise ... Tips: 1. Try lower carb beer (who doesn't love a XXXX gold or a great northern), dry wine and clear spirits over craft beers, ciders and cocktails 2. Use soda water and diet mixers over soft drink, juices and tonic 3. Sip water in between drinks 4. Have a glass of electrolyte drink before bed (and when you wake up as needed) 5. Eat prior to drinking and include a source of proteins specially if drinking straight after playing or training But at the end of the day if you want to enjoy your social engagement go for gold, just do it. Life's too short to get hung up on minor details and in all honestly 1 night doesn't have a huge impact positive or negative on your goals either way

06.01.2022 With a year with as many challenges as 2020 has thrown up, our team has developed an incredible level of internal support for one another While our main objective is you, our clients, we also ensure that we hold each other accountable and support each other in our health pursuits If we are a happier, healthier team we are significantly more capable of making the best possible decision for you

06.01.2022 BRAVERY Why do we believe we are the right team to help you achieve your health goals ? Because we get it. We get that the hardest part of the journey is quite often the first step. The first time you walk through the doors takes an enormous amount of bravery. It takes bravery to walk into a new environment, to be vulnerable in front of a complete stranger and to ask for help. ... We get it. And we have your back throughout.

05.01.2022 Give this lady a camera and she will entertain herself for days Keep an eye out as we are building towards the release of "The Inspire Series" I'm sure you will see this face a few times throughout

05.01.2022 Why does coaching matter ? When it comes to achieving a goal in a timely fashion it’s important that a few things are in place. 1 you need to have a clear macro process to follow ... 2 you need clear weekly structures to adhere to 3 you need to execute daily in the most accurate fashion possible All the plans in the world are fantastic but if the execution isn’t there progress will be slower than needed. Coaching helps make sure the execution is top shelf so we can get you to your result in the most timely fashion

05.01.2022 Another wonderful year with our community plus and NDIS clients comes to a close this week Once upon a time our senior exercise program was 1 session per week with some friends coming along to stay active together Now we run classes everyday and the small circle of friends has well and truly extended... 04.01.2022 Lower Back Pain a general overview by physiotherapist Rob Haugh

03.01.2022 It’s the small things that make up the difference with coaching It’s the minor corrections It’s the things nobody else picks up on that makes the difference... If I execute a movement 5% better for an accumulative 8 weeks than someone else the results are astounding It’s why the right coach can be one of the most valuable investments for your health that you will make

01.01.2022 Saturday morning, what a time to get your weekend off and running with a bit of physical activity to get those endorphins pumping Pick something fun, pick something social and enjoy your weekend everyone

01.01.2022 Acute vs Chronic Workload, what is it ? So a common reason we see injuries is due to sudden spikes in load or inconsistent progressive patterns in training. A way to monitor this yourself is through what is commonly called the acute to chronic workload calculation. How do you do this for your running volume ?... 1) add up the last 4 weeks of your running kms (this gets your chronic workload) and divide by 4 to get your weekly average 2) calculate your total kms per week for the upcoming week (acute workload) 3) divide your acute by your chronic workload to establish if your upcoming week is within an optimal training increase. EG. chronic workload average = 20kms acute workload average = 30kms 30 / 20 = 1.5 Please note the optimal range falls between 0.8 - 1.3 for trained populations !
