06.01.2022 DON’T JUST ROLL UP AND DOWN!! Transverse friction massage (going side to side). Is a technique that promotes optimal collagen healing by increasing circulation and decreasing collagen cross- linking. Therefore, decreasing the formation of adhesions and scar tissue. Tired, sore or achy feet? Give this little trick a go! The harder the ball, the better

05.01.2022 Do you know to manage an acute ankle sprain properly! It's not always ' just a sprained ankle'! This one is a cuboid fracture. 1. Consult with your podiatrist: they will assess the need for imaging. Remember fractures don't often show in the first 48 hours....x-rays only show bone....not soft tissue. ... 2. If you heard a pop and or a snap there is a good chance that something is - torn or fractured......the elevate means.....don't put weight on it, till you know the damage. 3. ICE for 20mins and Anti-inflammatories help in the first 48 hours (like voltarin rapid 25 which is over the counter medication) Therapeutic ultrasound is also useful for pain and swelling. Seek expert advice early, to ensure you return to your normal activities and reduce the risk of long term pain.

04.01.2022 BEFORE AND AFTER Just one week apart and Remis toe is a lot better!

04.01.2022 WEAK OR UNSTABLE ANKLES Not only do our ankle ligaments play an important role in stabilising our ankle joint but there are lots of muscles that cross the joint that aid in strength and stability. Knowing about these muscles and their importance in ankle strength and stability can decrease your risk of injury or reoccurrence. ... Our calves ( gastrocnemius and soleus), Peroneals (Brevis and Longus) and the tibialis posterior muscle all play a role in stabilising the joint. Balance discs are a great exercise to add into your daily routine to increase strength , stability and proprioception (awareness and position of the ankle)
