25.01.2022 Australia Post Update - Must read for anyone sending or receiving parcels to Victoria Important update on our operations Over the last three weeks, Australia Post has experienced a significant increase in demand as Victorians have increased their online buying due to stage 4 lockdowns. So much so, that our parcel volumes in Victoria for August are up approximately 150% year-on-year compared to the national average of 90%.... At the same time, our business has been required to make additional adjustments in our processing and deliveries workforce to comply with the State Government's COVID safe restrictions. From the very start of the pandemic, we have been clear that our strategy has been to protect our people, serve our customers and safeguard the business. Safety of our people is not-negotiable and the current situation in Victoria, with massive volumes and severe congestion in our network, has us at a point of concern for the safety of our workforce. To make sure we can still safely deliver for your customers, the following changes are immediately necessary: No Weekend Collections in Victoria There will be no collections in Victoria this weekend the last pickup for the week will be Friday 28 August 2020 by 8pm and the next collection will be Monday 31 August 2020 commencing from 5am. Victoria destined Parcels With the massive demand and workforce capacity constraints, we foresee an additional 3 day delay for deliveries in Victoria. This is both within and into Victoria. This means, any lodgements made in other States destined for Victoria may be held in those States for up to 3 business days to allow Victoria to work through the present demand. Father's Day For deliveries across Australia, we recommend at least the following lodgement dates for delivery before Father's Day on Sunday 6 September 2020: Parcel Post and letters Friday 28 August 2020 Express Post parcels Monday 31 August 2020 For items lodged after these dates, whilst we will try our best, we do not expect to be able to meet delivery for Father's Day. We will keep you updated regularly over the next few weeks and anticipate reviewing the situation in line with the easing of level 4 restrictions. We appreciate the implications of these decisions and want to assure you we are doing our very best within these extremely challenging times. I'm sure you can appreciate we cannot compromise the safety of our people and I appreciate your ongoing support as we work through this together. 09.01.2022 Delivery Changes and Updates as at 23rd of April. Delivery Delays are continuing, especially between states as there are no flights for Australia Post to utilise and alternatives are being sort. It will take time for the backlog of parcels to be handled. As of 23rd of April, Priority Letter Post is no longer available from Australia Post. In Metro areas, Standard letter delivery is now reduced to delivery every second day (not every day as previously). Regional Australia w...ill see no change. This will slow down the delivery of any standard envelope posted in Australia. Changes to shipping options have been made to the site already, just keep in mind that envelopes will be a lot slower now. Victorian customers As at 23rd of April, parcels are still slow to Victorian states however they have made some headway in reducing the backlog. New Zealand customers As at 23rd of April, parcels are shipping to New Zealand, however there is a backlog due to a lack of international flights. Australia Post are working on a solution.

08.01.2022 Changes to Padded Envelope shipping In light of the problems with envelopes disappearing as they have no tracking, I have made a few changes. Effective immediately, padded envelopes now cost $6.95 and are registered, giving tracking and a signature. If you prefer a satchel, this option is still available during checkout.... 07.01.2022 Australia Post Update I have received...... During these challenging times, Australia Post is working hard to deliver your parcels. Current volumes however exceed even our busiest Christmas period and we are processing close to two million parcels a day. This heavy volume coupled with significantly reduced flights and the impact of social distancing in our facilities has led to delays. To adapt to these pressures we’ve made the following changes:... Facilities are operating 24/7 and our drivers are delivering on weekends. Fifteen new or repurposed processing facilities have been added to increase capacity. Eight extra freighter flights have been added within Australia so we now have seventeen dedicated air freighter flights per day. Hundreds of casual staff have been recruited into the network and contact centres. International notifications have been updated for better visibility and we’ll advise you if your parcel needs to go by sea. Some small changes to help us move your parcel faster: Make sure that the label and barcode on your parcels are clearly visible so it’s easier for us to scan. Update your delivery address so your favourite websites know that you’re working from home. Where possible, use flat standard packaging, as this will make it easier for us to manage and deliver. Check the international updates section on our website to see which overseas destinations we are currently sending to and receiving from. For those sending or waiting on international parcels, please be aware that there are significant delays to many destinations due to limited flights and government restrictions. Impacts to the United States of America, New Zealand, Germany and France are significant with severe delays being experienced. Where airline capacity does become available, we continue to prioritise Express Parcels. A number of destinations also have full service suspensions where we are unable to move parcels due to airport closures or major delivery issues. We understand that these international and local impacts are frustrating, but our posties, delivery drivers, Post Office team members and contact centre staff are doing their best, so please show them a little understanding. As a reminder, our tracking tool provides you with the most accurate guidance on estimated delivery dates and advises you of any delays while your parcel is in transit. 07.01.2022 I received the following from Australia Post regarding deliveries to Victoria. "Today Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews, announced that Australia Post will continue to operate throughout Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne. Our Post Offices will remain open and we will continue to process and deliver letters and parcels to all Australians, in line with government regulations.... We appreciate each Victorian business will need to assess their options to continue operating and want to assure you we are here to help, so please reach out to your Account Manager for support. Our priority is always the safety of our people, and we are following Australian Government advice in relation to managing COVID-19 in Australia Post facilities. We remain committed to continuing delivery throughout our network and we will keep you updated if we experience any disruptions resulting from COVID-19 at auspost.com.au."

04.01.2022 Something Nice to Finish a very busy week. Below are some photos of a custom Gem Trees, setting them in proper bowls made by the talented Alison Hudd. I personally like the weeping willow, it is a very different design with a very calming look.... Alison used 24ga Non tarnish Copper wire from Artistic wire and a variety of gem stones and beads.
