They were a domestic kitten (Felis catus), a Eurasian kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) and an Egyptian cobra (Naja haje). They have even been able to create 3D models of the remains that can be 3D printed or examined through virtual reality.

Canberra’s premier playwright David Finnigan set out to write a play about the seven turning points that have brought us to this moment in time our ecosystems transformed, our planet on the brink of unthinkable climate disaster. But then we were hit by the bushfires. As Australia burned, and one billion animals perished, Finnigan was receiving texts from loved ones racing to evacuate amidst the devastation. In an intriguing performance that interweaves 75,000 years of humanity with the incredibly personal account of his best friend’s escape, Finnigan calls on scientific research, phone footage and storytelling to illuminate unprecedented global change and how we’ve arrived here. Shot through with humour, pop culture and a rich electronic soundtrack, You’re Safe ‘til 2024 speaks of resilience and hope. Running from 8-10 April in the Courtyard Studio at the Canberra Theatre Centre. Find out more about the show https://canberratheatrecentre.com.au/s/youre-safe-til-2024/
