23.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 8th August || Band Camp, Chewing Gum and Handcuffs Our meeting tonight certainly contained a few things out of the ordinary! ... After an inspiration and warm up game we were entertained by the improv game, which was a mock interview and we were very relieved that Angela wasnt successfully recruited for the position of Pet Food Taster! We learnt a bit about leadership styles and farming likes on social media as well as what band camp, chewing gum and handcuffs have in common for that whole story you will have to come along to a meeting to find out! Well done to the evaluators tonight who did a stellar job. The Table Topics were based on inspiring quotes and we heard some great speeches about getting out of your comfort zone, looking for opportunities, having a positive attitude towards others and working on your home/work life balance. Thanks to our guests for joining us and congratulations on completing your first Table Topics speeches! * Next meeting - 22nd August *
22.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 11th July || The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!! Our vocal chords were exercised early on with a tongue twister warm-up... it was much more fun to listen to than to try and say it ourselves! ... Martin kicked off the speeches with an insightful look at the good, the bad and the ugly of mentoring. Angela helped us all to calm down and increase our intelligence with a speech on meditation and Peters speech was a toast to three of our members, all deserving of recognition. We were inspired by Jasons greatest sporting achievement during Table Topics and learnt a thing or two about a crazy cat lady and not so crazy cat lady amongst us! Thanks to our guests for joining us Jason, Danny, Yosef, Jai and Trisha we loved the feedback you provided during the evaluations and well done to those of you who participated in Table Topics. * Open House Meeting - 25th July - come along! *
22.01.2022 || 10 October 2018 || Physical Activity and Inspiration! Everyone got the memo about the theme of the night, physical activity and Inspiration!... Our table topics master started with a great box of tricks containing all sorts of sporting equipment. This was thoroughly entertaining we learnt about how one member had a learning love of baseball until he actually went to a baseball game in America. Another esteemed member took us back to grassroots Aussie rules. We had an amazing inspirational that left us wondering, the lives have you touched? Have you ever thought about the way you ask a question and how that could possibly change someones life? Nola - blood, sweat and tears, definitely what one would link to Toastmasters. Nola, truly took us on a journey, her journey through Toastmasters, her learnings and some of the key aspects she has managed to incorporate into everyday life, especially her communication style at work. Well done Nola, it was a great journey. It was great having two guests attend our meeting and they enjoyed their time. * Next meeting 24th October Speechathon *

We began with our Humorous Club Contest and had a very entertaining speech about The Prehistoric Family, where we learnt some fun facts about The Flintstones. Charles, we look forward to hearing more of your character impersonations in future speeches! We also had a fabulous speech about The Benefits of Being a Loser!, which gave us ...a refreshing look at the lighter side of club contests! Spring has Sprung was the theme for our Table Topics Contest and we heard some great responses about the downsides of Spring pollen and weeds are certainly pesky at this time of year but for some contestants there is no downside to springtime! Congratulations to all contestants for your efforts and putting your hand up to be involved. Thank you also to our judges, timers and everyone else involved behind the scenes in preparing for and running our Club Contest. 08.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 22nd August || How Much is your Credit Card Worth? An inspiration about learning to embrace change kicked off our meeting, followed by a few stretches as part of our warm-up. We had an informative educational on Toastmasters contests, which was very timely with our club Table Topics and Humorous Contest coming up on the 26th September. ... The Improv Game was a unique version of Perfect Match. Our lucky contestant asked questions of a security guard, model and professional footballer! We had three well-presented project speeches this week and learnt about the evolving language of marriage ceremonies, the path to the Rendezvous, and some little known facts about credit cards in the speech how much is your credit card worth. Our Table Topics speeches were based on our likes and dislikes of particular books and objects. We were entertained by paradigm shifts, the weight of books, helping hands and children and moisturiser! A special segment at the end of our meeting was the presentation of the Toastmaster of the Year award, as voted by our members. Well done to our runners up Peter Golding, Chris Thomas and Kobie Richardson and congratulations to Martin OConnor for taking out the honour this year. 05.01.2022 24 October 2018 Speechathon! Not the seven wonders of the world but seven amazing speeches! ... It was a meeting with a twist, we had a speechathon. Seven riveting speeches. Charles started the evening presented a very education speech teaching, reminding us that our brain is not what we think and relating it to one experience everyone has had, Ikea furniture. Some of the other topics covered were mentorship, key performance indicators and Emmie Maunder did demonstrate her skills as being the next infomercial star. With a thoroughly entertaining speech on Christmas gift buying, she even managed to sell some of her slightly more unique gifts. With members of different levels and skill sets, it was a great opportunity for us all to list to some very different styles and had a lot of fun. Peter Golding as always provided a beautiful cake and tea, with some delicious cream. We look forward to hearing our newest members icebreaker at our next meeting. * Next meeting 14th November *

03.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 12th September || Its So Easy to Get What You Want Just Ask! We began our evening with an Inspiration that lead us all the way to the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Following that theme of learning something new about each other, our warm up consisted of us writing down something that no-one else in the room knew about us and we guessed who each person was. Salsa dancing and tonsils have never been so intriguing!... Our Improv Game involved some laughter yoga and if there was something inspiring to take away from that session it was Ive got your back. We heard an entertaining speech about why email addresses stunt your growth and enjoyed a phenomenal ice-breaker speech. Peter told us that its so easy to get what you want just ask! and shared his story about collecting t-shirts from around the world, including a recent one from Russia. Our Club Mentoring Program was the focus of our Educational and we heard Table Topics speeches about remembering 9/11, the moon landing and the passing of Elvis Presley. We acknowledged Jason for completing his ice-breaker speech, with the presentation of an ice-breaker ribbon, and Martin was awarded certificates for completing Pathways Level 1 and 2. Congratulations Jason and Martin! * Next meeting 26th September Club Contest *
03.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 25th July || You Never Know Who is Watching You The air was brisk, the clouds were heavy and inside it was toasty and warm. On a wet and cold wintery evening we hosted our Open House Meeting. Kudos to everyone who braved the weather and came along! ... Our inspiration covered the use of pause do you use the pause well? Next we played the warm up game Have You Ever? and learnt some amusing things about each other. Some of us have ridden camels, some of us have been overseas, and all of us have eaten too much at one time or another! We enjoyed Chris improv game and learnt that you can have a lot of fun directing camels in Egypt and on the Love Boat! [ pause... for effect ] Congratulations to Benya on completing your first speech, the icebreaker. You are now officially on your way to becoming an accomplished Toastmaster! We were inspired by Sams speech, reminding us that you never know who is watching you. Well done Sam and we hope you get the opportunity to present your speech at the International Speech Contest Grand Final in Chicago next month best of luck from all of us. Table Topics proved that were not all fans of Winter. We loved hearing about Niagra Falls, why swimming in the ocean is a favourite thing to do in winter, and confirmed that burgers are worth eating no matter the weather! Thanks to our fellow Toastmasters and guests for joining us, we hope you were inspired to visit another time. * Next meeting 8th August *
01.01.2022 || Meeting Summary - 27th June || What a night of laughs!! We had an entertaining evening revolving around the 5 languages of love, travelling to Bali, and the castles we would like to live in. It all sounds magical but don't be fooled, Peter also gave us some wonderful insights into how to lose friends and infuriate people!! ... Our other highlights included Angela's buzzing fly during our improv game, Benya's inspiration and of course all our Table Topics speakers. Thanks to our guests for joining us - Jason, Rachel, Angela, Leesa and Ngaire - we loved your company and your contribution to our meeting. * Next Meeting - 11th July *
