19.01.2022 Overexposed SX-70 photos? Odds are you have corrosion on your electric eye. This is an incredibly common issue on Texas Instruments PCBs and results a layer of white crystal forming over the sensor. It should be a nice blue color. Often times I find them completely white! This lets less light through, making the camera think it's darker than it really is.

18.01.2022 I dropped an album! On tape! https://thekosmonaut.bandcamp.com/album/demo Ticked off an activity from my "things to do before I turn 30" list. ... If you've ever wondered what heavy industrial synth music would sound like if produced by someone with no actual ability to plan an instrument, and an incredibly limited knowledge of musical theory, then this is for you! Do you like 12 minute long songs with un-necessarily long noodling solos? Do you like introductions narrated by famous BBC presenters? Do you like listening to distorted synthesizers that sound kinda like guitars if you squint your ears? Then you will love this. Lyrically the album is about being bored and ultimately wondering what the point of life is. Its about wondering if you've made the right decisions. Except for track 4... that one I wrote about the January bushfires... Track 5 is 5 minutes of multi-track improv. Enjoy! It's free to download, or if you like, feel free to buy a tape! I'd like to thank: - my wonderful wife Anna for putting up with my while I made a whole stack of noise in my workshop. - dad for kickstarting my love of music - mum, for listening to each of my demo tracks and pretending to enjoy them - Mark from Dutch Vinyl for a providing me with hundreds of old C90 cassettes to dub and thanks to Kirstie Pollie for the kick ass album art https://www.discogs.com/release/15873457

14.01.2022 SOLD! Mamiya RB-67 Polaroid kit with MEGA RARE NPC CB-70 back and CB101 back ALLOWS YOU TO SHOOT SX-70 or 600 film! ... If you feel like buying an instant camera that's as rare as a unicorn then this is it. After many years of being a crown jewel in my instant camera collection, I've finally decided to sell my RB67 Polaroid kit. For those that aren't familiar with the CB70 back, you can probably be forgiven! Most people have never heard of them! They are amazingly rare, allowing the user to shoot mirrored Polaroid 600 and SX-70 film on a Mamiya RB67. Back in the day, Polaroid backs were often used for proofing or industrial/scientific purposes. Generally peel-apart film backs were favored however for their truer color representation and cheaper price. Since peel-apart film backs were less costly to produce, with much cheaper film, the CB-70 back saw hardly any sales, and was available as a special order unit from NPC only. No sales figures are known, but it would be minimal. I'm guessing in the hundreds at best. In the 8 years I've been refurbishing instant cameras, I've only ever seen a single one come up for sale on eBay, and I only know a single other person in the USA who owns one. As for the kit itself, it comprises of: - 1x RB67 body - 1x WLF - 1x prism finder - 1x trigger grip - 1x CB70 back for SX-70 and 600 film - 1x CB103 back for peel apart film like FP-100C - a stack of caps, lens hood etc - 90mm f3.7 lens - ground glass with no framelines, optimized for 7x7cm instant film coverage Everything on the camera functions as it should. Shutter speeds are 100% spot on accurate and the camera itself is in reasonable condition for a well-used studio rig. Lens is pretty much spotless, although if you are being fussy, there is some small edge separation of the coating only present on the outside of the lens. Its nothing that affects optical quality, and I only mention it to be pedantic. See for yourself in the photos, the kit is in excellent condition. I believe given the current price of RB67 accessories, that I have priced this fairly. I cannot emphasize how rare this is... The closest modern equivalent you can get to this is the filmsy Rezivot conversion of the Impossible Instant Lab, which would set you back around $900aud by the time you have one shipped. But with shonky rechargeable Li-Ion batteries that are renowned for failure... it's not something I would recommend using. If you want an alternative to shooting peel apart film, this is basically your only choice! The CB-70 back works flawlessly, as does the Polaroid back. Buyer will be a happy camper. Happy to ship Aus wide for $40 insured. Tis a heavy beast this thing! Happy to provide video footage of it working too.
