21.01.2022 For those truely concerned about the need for business to contribute to society and not just take!

21.01.2022 As a leader in your organisation how do you not show biases when hiring or developing a team? It can be an expensive mistake, you know that! The team dynamics, productivity, can be a fickle and fragile thing. The behavioural qualities required for that particular job, may even irritate you and Biases can stop you making the correct decision. You have another interview ... How is this person going to operate under stress? Will they fit in? Are they going to finish the job given to them? You know people, call it intuition if you like, but you’re a busy person. We can answers these and many more behavioral questions around your new members to the team. We will sort it out for you! For as little as $345, and it’s a time efficient! MDA will tell you which is the right person for the job!

19.01.2022 I highly recommend, to those interested in behavioural risk, an article by Michael Mazarr titled 'Risk Management - The true Character of Risk'. http://www.rmmagazine.com///01/the-true-character-of-risk/ He says 'under pressure, in complex and uncertain environments .... human factors routinely obstruct risk management..... Effectively managing risk is about shaping the understandings, biases and habits of senior leaders and entire organizations'. Organisations need to understand the difference between cultural risk (the risks arising from the behaviours, thoughts and feelings of individuals such as Board members - not simply cognitive biases) and risk culture. Consultants who understand and can manage cultural risk have a huge advantage over those who wonder why failures happened.

07.01.2022 This is a very interesting take on engagement, and makes some very important points. The issue of cultural 'fit' is fundamentally important, but how is that defined? Equally important is the environment created my management, and how that encourages people to engage with the organisation. Engagement is not a rational process - it is an emotional process and cannot be turned on and off. Yes, we must each take some rsponsibility for our own engagement, but this is hard, and highly unlikely, if the environment is not conducive to engagement. Understanding behaviours at a deep level makes these issues easier to understand and manage.

02.01.2022 Storytelling is a key approach to making sense of human behaviour and human interactions. Humans are complex beings as are their interactions, and narrative and story telling is the most powerful means of making sense of individual and team behaviours.
