25.01.2022 Here it is! My favourite landscape that I’ve ever had the pleasure of being involved in. Can’t thank @lukeandjasmine enough for getting us involved on @theblock again. Two of the nicest people you’d come across As I said the other week, getting build a @cos.design garden is always a thrill, but getting to work along side Steve was an absolute highlight and one that I’ll remember for as long as I can remember things! There was such an impressive team of trades on this projec...t that were all vital to getting it finished to the standard we did; I was pretty excited getting to work alongside @hungrywolfstudio while they built the amazing curved pizza oven bench and bench seat. Like everyone, I’ve admired their work for a while, so it was nice to get to know the team that make up Hungry Wolf and get along with the so well @ijm_constructions getting the highest amount of decking and cladding of the day bed done @hazelwoodengineering created the day bed, floating bench seat, floating table, installed the deck fascia on short notice and even stuck around till the end putting in plants As did @demannelectrical , helping with the landscaping again after his electrical tasks were done @exquisitepoolsandgardens lent us a couple of their guys during the week and they were an extremely valuable part of getting everything done It was a joy working alongside @thefirebrickco while they built their Pizza Oven. 19.01.2022 The client at this Armstrong Creek project wanted a feature plant in a pot outside the front window. I was originally trying to find a Cycad but couldn’t find one in the size I wanted, so had to settle for this Dragon Tree instead. Haven’t been back much since last year while the builder finishes the house, but gee it’s a beautiful looking garden, and will get better with age. 11.01.2022 I’d been looking forward to back yard week for @lukeandjasmin on @theblock ever since I saw the design from @cos.design , it’s absolutely amazing, and an enormous amount of work! We had specific tasks to complete each day that HAD to be done, or we would run out of time. I know they play up how things have to get done on the show or so and so won’t finish, but this was a legitimately tight, insane timeline. One day of rain and we’d be cooked, and it was the middle of June! Da...y 1 we had to excavate the footings for the curved block wall that the seat would be cantilevered off, the footing for the curved off white concrete bench seat from @hungrywolfstudio and the footings for the @outdureliving deck, we also had to get all of the above inspected by Keith/Dan and poured. We also started on some of the underpaving for the concrete paving steppers. 6 cubic meters of excavation and 6 cubic meters of concrete, plus the steel that had to go in. All in a day The first 5 photos are taken at 7.30pm at the end of day 1. We certainly couldn’t have done it without help from the guys from @exquisitepoolsandgardens who lent us two guys for a few days throughout the week. Day 2 we had @masonry.masters come in and lay the curved block wall, which was also then core filled the same day. Once they’d finished the wall we had to get the concrete underpaving done so that Hungry Wolf could pour the feature bench for the wood fired pizza oven to sit on, and the steel for the curved bench seat was installed and inspected, AND the deck subfloor was done by @ijm_constructions . The last 5 photos are 7pm after day 2. We got all of that done in two days and I still can’t believe it. 10.01.2022 As the week started to unfold for backyard week on @theblock for @lukeandjasmin , we started to fall behind on our extremely tight schedule. My stress levels started to rise and after leaving site around 8pm the first two nights, the next two it was closer to 10pm in a bid to get everything done, and the last two days weren’t before 11pm. When Luke told me his Dad was going to give us a hand once they came over, it didn’t reduce my stress levels at all because I didn’t have h...igh expectations of how he’d be of much help. But boy was I wrong! Dave was an absolute machine! Not only a great person to work with, but I remember seeing him working on the tiling of the feature wall, I went off and worked on something else for a short period of time, turned around and Dave had finished the tiling. In the blink of an eye! He was such an asset to have on the team. There really are so many amazing people that played a part in constructing this garden. 07.01.2022 Started to fall a bit behind on days 3 and 4 on @theblock for @lukeandjasmin so these photos were taken at 9.35pm both nights. @hungrywolfstudio had to get this insane curved concrete base, designed by @cos.design, for the pizza oven to sit on done on day 3 (first 3 photos) because @thefirebrickco were coming on day 4 (last 5 photos) and what a joy it was working with the guys from @thefirebrickco ! @hungrywolfstudio also formed the curved concrete bench seat day 3 and poured... it day 4. I also laid the pavers underneath the pizza oven bench(last photo) and that was a pretty cool experience.
