08.01.2022 Government extends suspension of mutual obligations until 22 May 2020 April 23, 2020 11:59 AM The Government has extended the existing suspension of income reporting requirements until 22 May 2020. ... This is a further extension from the originally announced date of 31 March 2020 that was extended to 27 April 2020. This applies to existing recipients of: JobSeeker Payment Youth Allowance (JobSeeker), and Parenting Payment. This also extends to reporting of attendance at appointments and activities required under the mutual obligation requirements. The Government is also providing early access to the Employment Fund credit to jobactive providers (ie business connecting job seekers and employers). Providers will be able to obtain credits towards purchasing work-related items for job seekers who commence with their business from 4 May 2020. The continued suspension and additional support is due to the increased demand on Centrelink services as a result of the Coronavirus, which has seen existing recipients experience limited ability to report. It also provides flexibility and ensures the safety of individuals in exempting them from attending appointments and other activity-based requirements. The Government will continue to regularly review this and may further extend this date.
