Think VAPs, very attacked people, the ones who are not VIPs. According to a recent Proofpoint quarterly report, its interesting to see whos being attacked, here is a snapshot:... 1. 30% of Phishing attacks were to generic email addresses, so essentially lower level staff on shared email accounts were most vulnerable 2. R&D/Engineering were the most attacked over the period 3. Of those organisations attacked, nearly 80% were targeted that saw more than 6 identities spoofed 4. Fraudulent social media support account phishing increased 442%, & compared to a year ago 5.
