12.01.2022 The Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) is a rating system used to evaluate the energy efficiency of a home, based on its design. Our consultants utilise the approved modelling software to measure potential heating and cooling energy use. We believe that good design achieves sustainable results, and more comfortable homes. Using our in-house modelling software FirstRate5 and BERS PRO, we perform NatHERS modelling on residential homes and group housing. Our sustainability team also provide guidance on improved energy efficiency, through NatHERS modelling to large scale residential projects, a valuable activity for town planning applications. 10.01.2022 Integral Group win Design & Engineering Award for Embodied Carbon in MEP Design CanBIM have announced Integral Group as the recipients for the Design & Engineering Category at the Innovation and Spotlight Awards for their work in Embodied Carbon in MEP Design. Integral Group’s submission highlighted that engineers need to understand embodied carbon emissions at early design stage so that informed choices can be made using Whole Life Carbon thinking. In the case of MEP, this i...s challenging as the designs are so complex. Integral Group has established a method to extract data from BIM models that link to an embodied carbon database. This way, design professionals can study in detail the embodied carbon of MEP designs to make better-informed decisions to help meet climate targets. 09.01.2022 In 2016 Darebin City Council was the first council in the world to declare a climate emergency. Integral Group are enjoying the challenge of working with them, Warren and Mahoney Architects and the project team on the reimagining of the Northcote Aquatic and Recreation Centre (NARC) as an all-electric, 6-star Green Star aquatic centre. Along with the project team, our engineers have been crunching the numbers and ‘keeping the electric dream alive’ with a holistic analysis o...f capital, operational and life cycle costs. By highlighting the reductions of energy bills and carbon emissions over time, they have been able to develop a design that will have a positive impact on the operational costs, and reinforce Darebin Council’s commitment to sustainability. The all-electrical design is just part of the extensive list of sustainability initiatives being incorporated, including Solar PV, Electric Vehicle Charging, Heat Recovery, Demand Management and Water Reuse strategies. 01.01.2022 The NSW Government has announced the rezoning of the Western Gateway near Central Station, paving the way for the new $2.5 billion Central Place Sydney development. Frasers Property Australia - International and Dexus unveiled the design vision for the precinct on Thursday. The Western Gateway is the first stage of a larger redevelopment of 24 hectares which will form part of Tech Central, Sydney’s new Innovation and Technology Precinct. Integral Group has been assisting Dexus and Frasers Property with their design for the $2.5 billion development for the past 12 months. The project comprises two office towers of 37 and 39 storeys, integrated with a smaller building below comprising workspaces, retail shops and dining choices. We congratulate Frasers Property and Dexus on this fantastic milestone.
