23.01.2022 MY MELBURNIANS A brilliant team to work with - innovative, fucking freaking smart and really focused on creating a difference in the aged and health care sectors. Not all of the team are based in Melbourne but quite a few are so here's a shout out to them! Hayylo ... 'Meet Hayylo: a customer experience platform that’s integrated, customised and purpose built for your aged, disability and home health care customers. Say hello to our growing team. Like many businesses we have had to pivot to online solutions during this period but with a talented international team the transition hasn’t been too rocky. After all, Hayylo is all about better communication, so we pride ourselves on having an internal team that can still be responsive and adaptive while working from all corners of the world.'
23.01.2022 How to have customers crushing on you even in a time of COVID 2020 has brought to the fore the importance of connectedness with family, with friends, with community, with customers regardless of location. We’ve all had to think outside the box a tad in order to stay in touch. Not sure about you but my 2020 has be full to the brim of Zoom meetings, Slack video calls, Google Meets, remote learning apps, and even teaching (from an appropriate social distance) an elderly ne...ighbour how to use Facetime. I’ve sent cupcakes to a friend for their ISO birthday. I’ve had clients and associates send me care packs (love you guys). Even a LinkedIn connection gifted me bags of coffee beans (HubSpot has a friend for life just saying). It’s been full of some different ways to connect and while some have been a bit blah, some have been enlightening, lovely and have created stronger connections. So, what does this have to do with content and marketing in general? What does this have to do with how to have customers crushing on you - even in a time of COVID? http://integratedcopy.com/how-to-have-customers-crushing-o/

22.01.2022 By now you're probably aware of the unfolding Facebook drama of the week here in Australia...pages are being suspended across the board if they are deemed to be sharing 'news'... Pages we thought safe...nah...charities, retailers, bloggers, gov departments, sporting teams...and the list continues to grow. So, for now...if you want your biz page to stay visible - create unique content, avoiding sharing links or other people's posts. ... For the future...take time today to consider other platforms, other forms of communicating. Revisit your process for email list building, update your website, ensuring your other social media profiles are rocking. Got questions - just sing out.
21.01.2022 Think Insta is having a brain fart today. Every second post - paid and organic is showing as sensitive content
21.01.2022 Today in Qld was a great reminder of the amazing work of my fellow comms and social media specialists over the last 6 months. Restrictions changed and we dropped everything and we went to work from phones and laptops, from wherever we were (personally I was shopping with the teenager so...no biggie lol). We spoke to clients, we crafted comms, we posted and updated and made sure that our communities and audiences were aware of what was going on.... This isn't new - this has become our 'new normal' in 2020 - even on a Saturday. Our lives have been all go, go, go - no wait - pivot - change direction - go, go, go - wait - stop - go again. Or something like that. And we do, because we love what we do. We love our clients and want to see their businesses survive this and thrive. To the tired, stressed, over-caffeinated comms and social media specialists, not just here in Qld, but around the world - you're amazing! I see the work you're doing and I thank you for hanging in there. Communication and connection is so important now and you're an integral part of that. Don't forget how important you are.
21.01.2022 MY MELBURNIANS Meet The Production House Events team... Geez this has been a friggin hard year for these guys but through it all they have maintained their professionalism (and sense of humour) while still serving their clients in the very best way possible. ... There's been so much pivoting going on I'm surprised they're not permanently dizzy. Need to turn a event into a virtual extravaganza - these are the ones to chat to. Need to plan your event for next year - get in now! tphe.com.au The Production House Events
18.01.2022 Last week I was asked to provide an idea of the type of work I've been working on lately...the email subject line read: It's no wonder I'm tired and can't remember some of 2020. I won't share the exact email - this is prettier and less sweary!... The first half of 2020 was crazy busy - things are now calming down so if you need a hand with something just sing out. My personal favourite isn't actually in the image below - it's when I'm asked to essentially 'unbeige' copy - I get briefs like 'Babe I think I need some help with some copy. And I want it to be fucking wild. I want you to banish the beige, white, and black and that ducking purple haha. Work the synonyms, metaphors, and puns like Cardi B works the pole' #banishthebeige #writingonthewildside #copyediting #copywriting #content #copywriter #contentmanager #contentstrategy

17.01.2022 So, let's cover this off once and for all - stop content creation being harder than it needs to be! It's not brain surgery - or trust me I would not be doing this. 1. Plan out and create your kick ass long-form pillar content - aligned with your strategy/goals, that provides value, that tells an impactful story. Don't forget the visuals - imagery, screenshots, infographics, video to hold interest and add context.... 2. Repurpose that into micro content - short-form pieces - quotes, short stories, mashups, remixes, gifs, memes. 3. Distribute across all of your relevant social media platforms. The key here is RELEVANT. If your audience isn't on Tik Tok - neither should your business content. (What you do in your leisure time is your own biz) Done!
16.01.2022 The G Spot And by that, I mean the G-enius spot of content marketing of course. Not sure where you were going When creating concepts, strategies, content when defining channels and even automations - the genius is in that spot between the data/metrics and the pure magic of creativity it’s where the sparks fly.... It needs to hit both for the pure genius to happen for everyone to be satisfied. So, how do we get there? http://integratedcopy.com/the-g-spot/

12.01.2022 MY MELBURNIANS So, confession time - I have such a friggin girl crush on this one! My teenage daughter and I were fortunate to catch up with her at a live event early this year - before Covid crapped all over the year and we were both changed by the experience The Queen of Confidence... Erika from America is unlike anyone I've ever met before. Yes, she's the Queen of Confidence but she's so so much more. She's the real deal - authentic, genuine, prepared to share to help others. Her lockdown work - just wow! 'I can’t tell you how grateful I am for the community we have created As Melbourne is in a six week lockdown we have all decided to do a daily mental health challenge but not only Melbourne are sisters from around the world are gonna join us The support, accountability, and live interaction that this community shows up with blows me away daily' https://thequeenofconfidence.com/onlinesistahood When I dreamt about creating the SISTAHOOD It was really important to me that it wasn’t another course I wanted real Sistership, real connection, a genuine safe space where women could grow and up level their lives together. I am so honoured to call these women my sisters. We are getting through this challenging time together and in community and it’s so deeply inspiring

If you know anyone to could use some help please let them know and connect us. Stay strong Melbournians - we've got your back - you're not alone Try and get some rest, reset, recharge. Lacey Barratt (when we laughed our way through my shoot in Melb laneways with me being awkward AF - lucky you love me huh gorgeous?)
04.01.2022 MY MELBURNIANS By now we're all aware that our beautiful friends in Melbourne are in Stage 4 Covid-19 lockdown. But here's the thing - they are still kicking butt, working on their businesses, doing all the things under some super stressful situations. ... So, this week - every day - I'm going to highlight some of my Melburnians. Some I have worked with in the past, some I work with today, some that have become friends, some I just crush on. My Monday Melburnian is Lacey Barratt! Not only is she an award winning photographer and fierce, raw, unapologetic business badass, but she's a fantastic mum (currently with 5 munchkins at home in lockdown - I don't know how she does it) and mentor to those in her industry. Check out her latest offering - which is all online so you can get involved from anywhere. Love ya Lacey!
03.01.2022 MY MELBURNIANS Anyone who knows me, knows I love my coffee and I love my Melbourne so this one is probably no massive surprise. Let me introduce you to Coffee On Cue ... These guys represent one of my absolute favourite 'pivots' of Covid. You see their market was coffee at events - then March 2020 came and 90% of their events disappeared practically overnight. This left them in the unenviable position of staff with no work, no events/customers, and yet a tonne of coffee beans. Determined to adapt (and not waste all those delicious beans) Coffee on Cue set up an online store and set about ensuring the new WFH workforce of Australia was kept caffeinated. I was fortunate to be gifted a few bags of their beans during Wave 1 and they are awesome - just saying! They have a delivered to your door coffee subscription service - an amazing offering as we all know how scary it can be when the coffer runs dry! And, virtual event packs and live barista masterclasses too! https://www.coffeeoncue.com.au/
