The hearings for the electricity retailers will be happening this week and this will be the decider if they can charge us more for our daily service fee. Isn't the fee enough now? Some people depending on their retailer are paying up to $1.40 per day for a service charge, average cost is around $1.06 to $1.20 per day. This is before you flick the switch for the kettle. 06.01.2022 The Most Common causes of House fires: Faulty Wiring: Always use a qualified electrician. Double adaptors and power-boards can overload power points.... Install safety switches and correct fuses. Lighting: Check light fittings for heat build up. Discard lampshades that are close to light globes & lamp bases that can be knocked over easily. Ensure recessed downlights are properly insulated from wood panelling or ceiling timbers. Please make sure your smoke alarm is working, they have a test button make sure you test it and that the batteries have been changed within the last year. 05.01.2022 Do you know about the legislation for replacement of your old Smoke alarms? If your smoke alarms are 10 years old they need to be replaced! Legislation stipulates that the old style ionisation alarms are no longer adequate. Photoelectric alarms are the best way to protect your loved ones and allow enough time to escape your home if the worst happens. Alarms must also be linked to each other and be installed in all bedrooms hallways.
