16.01.2022 This girl! @mel_indas your dedication each week in both muscle Hirt and the conditioning class shows right here. Your improvement each week shows your fitness is on fire and so is your confidence in how you are feeling about yourself. This also shows why I do the same exercises for a long period in my classes before I change it, so you can improve, you know what to expect so you aren't afraid to push yourself, to get stronger, fitter and even get definition. Plus you don't have to think about what to do, it's already programmed for you, all you have to do is show up

13.01.2022 Split squats are one of my favorite exercise to do. Most people shy away from them because they are tough and you can't really cheat on them. Was so happy these two didn't complain when I told them it was part of their program #theymaynotlikemeatthemoment

12.01.2022 About 8 weeks ago i put out some posters for a 6 week "Shape up for Summer" challenge and started taking bookings. The plan was to take 30 Impala Fitness members, put them through a tough fitness test and full body measurements, then put them on an improved training program and a clean diet eating real food. Then see how much improvement could we get in 6 weeks. Two people I was really excited to see put their names down to challenge themselves were a mother and daughter team... Tammy and Tash. Family support plays a huge part in becoming fit and healthy, and here is the proof. Tash is a bride to be and with her wedding approaching fast she wanted to make some changes and feel amazing on her special day, and with her mother by her side they both kicked some huge as goals! They trained hard stayed on top of their nutrition and now feel amazing. They both shaped their bodies to be slimmer, leaner and more athletic. Their energy levels increased hugely plus there general fitness and athletic performance is a world apart from where they started. I'm so proud of everyone who completed the 6 weeks "Shape up for Summer" challenge and the results you all got are amazing.

12.01.2022 Do you sometimes feel you don't get the results from your training that you deserve for the effort you put in? You're body needs different forms of stimulus for change, especially if you have been training for some time. Metabolic overloading is one of the main styles of training stimuli and something you might be missing out on. Our Muscle HIRT class is designed to give the types of training stimuli that most struggle to get in a gym environment. It might just be the kick yo...ur body needs to really respond to all your effort. Muscle HIRT always is and always will be designed to work perfectly into any training program you might be following. If you train for strength then the high intensity will give your body a new type of loading while still maintaining growth and muscle breakdown. If you are a cardio lover then the resistance based workout of Muscle HIRT will help you create definition while still burning a ton of calories. Try something new, try Muscle HIRT, at the very least you will get a fun, quick burn, but maybe you will also help unlock a lot more potential. @impala.fitness Monday 530am Tuesday 6pm Wednesday 930am

09.01.2022 During ISO after ISO Dylan is a client who came to me about 2 years ago. At the time he was overtrained and beating his body up a bit for no real results. We got some great results by simply fixing his training program. During covid he was able to maintain a bit of conditioning with home based training but missed the gym atmosphere and range of equipment. So when gyms reopened Dylan was super keen to put on some proper muscle while also losing a fair chunk of body fat. Ga...ining muscle and losing fat at the same time can be quite difficult, but with some basic guidelines for his diet and higher frequency training splits he was able to achieve his goals. Dedication has really paid off Dylan and you are really starting to build the big solid X shape frame. As Dylan can prove, there is no magic pill, secret exercises or crazy fad diet that gets results, pay attention to your food and train with intensity, train exactly as your program tells you and nothing more (your trainer spent hours designing it for a reason). Well done Dyl, I hope you have enjoyed our sessions and love the results. Looking forward to seeing what comes next. See more

09.01.2022 Have you ever wondered why protein powder is such a common and popular supplement. Well the main reason would have to be convenience, it can be a bit of effort to get enough protein every day from food. Obviously real food is always your best option for nutrients, but if you have had enough food or don't have time to cook a meal then a simple shake is a reliable source of quality protein. There's only so much chicken you can eat every day :) How much do you actually need tho...ugh? Well a really basic starting minimum would be 1 gram per kilo of body weight. If you train regularly and want some muscle results you should be going higher. General figures for somebody regularly training would be 2 grams per kilo of body weight. If your are trying to add muscle you will want to be up around 2.5 grams per kilo. If you are trying to drop weight while maintaining muscle mass you might need 3 grams per kilo or even more. Protein is great because it causes an insulin response without spiking blood sugar levels. Infact protein also prompts a release of Glucagon which regulates blood sugar levels. So it is recommended to include some protein in every meal. That point surprises a lot of people. Insulin in a healthy person controls where glucose gets delivered so an insulin response after a work out really helps your body take glucose and direct it to your muscles it also directs the nutrients from the protein to your muscles to help feed the growth. Insulin is also anti catabolic (stops your body eating muscle when it is looking for nutrients). This explains why people trying to lose weight without losing muscle need to consume so much protein. Plus why a protein shake is beneficial after a workout to anybody trying to create a lean, muscular physique. If you have any form of diabetes you need to work with your doctor on your protein intake. Your body handles insulin response totally differently than others and it is important you follow your doctor's recommendations. So what makes a good protein supplement? Well the industry standard is Whey Protein Isolate. Isolate means it is refined down till at least 90% of the whole product is protein. (Max possible is about 93-94%) So a good protein supplement will still be around 80-85% protein after sweeteners and flavours have been added. If not your protein powder may have a lot of unnecessary thickeners, fillers or gums. These things may not be harmful and can improve texture but take the space of protein in your protein shake. You're paying for less protein. Another trick suppliers might use is called amino spiking. Protein is tested by nitrogen volume, adding a cheap, high nitrogen amino like Arginine or Glycine will give a false protein test result and the other important aminos will be low. Check the ingredients list carefully. If you have questions about your current protein powder hit me up and we can research your product a little.
