22.01.2022 Intercultural Harmony Society condemns the devastating act of terrorism to Mosques in Christchurch. We express our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s families afflicted by yesterday’s monstrous act and wish a speedy recovery to those injured. This premeditated callous act is aimed to threaten our homes, our sense of communal peace, unity, our friendships, our neighbourhoods and evoke a sense of fear in our lives. Terrorism is not applicable to one religion, ethnicity or ...ideology. Terrorism is what it is! This atrocity is an act of terrorism. An act we hope is never to be repeated towards any religion, ethnicity, ideology or minority group. The increasing Islamophobia in our backyards is a major concern and needs to be tackled at the highest level. Now more than ever is a time for the people of goodwill to continue to work together to grow the core values of humanity, to foster a society of peaceful co-existence for their loved ones and future generations.
