17.01.2022 We had a wonderful morning with our friends at McQuoin Aged Care Centre and our Parramatta Playgroup. The hybrid Virtual Playgroup session was a collaborative ...effort with our wonderful partners at LEGO who supplied mountains of DUPLO for both groups to play with as well as our caring partners at Catholic Healthcare who organised our older generation participants. The children so enjoyed meeting their new friends with one of our participants, Harry exclaiming, "Mum is that Nanna?" Intergenerational Playgroups are a wonderful opportunity to connect older Australians with the younger generation and give them a renewed sense of respect as well as an understanding of new technologies and parenting techniques. It's also educational for our younger participants to learn how to engage with elders. In the lead up to Grandparents Day 2020, we want to encourage all to reach out to not only their family but other older Australians and find ways to connect with them safely to help them remember how loved, valued and respected they are. #intergenerationalplaygroups
