Upon evaluating the risk that COVID-19 poses to the health and well-being of exhibitors, attendees and guests alike, the event organisers have ultimately decided to move the Reno + Design Show to later in the year, to a date when hopefully the risk the Coronavirus currently poses, will have dissipated. Even though nothing will cure dementia, art therapy stimulates the brain in a multitude of ways. It can stir dormant memories and sometimes even encourages speech. Art can also create a sense of accomplishment and purpose, while also providing an opportunity for nonverbal expression. ... Studies have shown that art therapy activities help boost cognitive function in various areas of the brain and enhance communication, brain function and social interaction in people with dementia. 17.01.2022 Who struggles with choosing white for their interior paint colour? If you answered yes, you are definitely not alone. IDA Design Professional and Colour Specialist Rachel Murray from Pop of Colour Interiors can help. Rachel says, many people feel that its one of the toughest paint colours to get right and there is a lot to consider. For example, do you need a warm white or a cooler white? How much natural light does the space receive? What is the style of your home? What are... the colour tonings of other existing surfaces in the space such as floors, kitchen benchtops, window frames and bathroom tiles? Rachel suggests checking the undertone - or the colour the white throws (e.g. hints of blue, pink, yellow or green) and she adds to be sure to brush out a sample of the colour you like before you commit. Rachel also says that it is a good idea to allow enough time to view the sample in different lights and at different times of day and night.
