24.01.2022 Run by our ISBT teachers from Portugal and Brasil in Portuguese.

20.01.2022 We are very pleased to have two new teachers in HK, teaching for the Hong Kong Occupational Therapists association (HKOTA). Jennifer and Rosalia, Occupational T...herapists and senior department heads in their respective hospitals, graduated with us 10 years ago and have since assisted every year in the ISBT courses organised by the HKOTA. As always we were treated to a delicious banquet, this year even adapted to my low FODMAP diet! While I was conducting the intensive teacher exams, it was a pleasure to have Col teaching an advanced course in an adjoining room to a small group of OT's. See more

14.01.2022 A SUBDUED SEASON’S GREETINGS NOTE OF INSPIRATION These pics are of ISBT’s latest group of Hong Kong graduates, joining 22 others who graduated in November, to t...otal 55 for 2019. We’ve been teaching in HK for 14 years; such is the enthusiasm of the locals for ISBT-Bowen Therapy. Our long-serving teachers, Iorin Chau and Selina Wan, supported by an ever-growing group of enthusiastic Occupational Therapist graduates, led to our work being approved for referral by doctors and specialists in the public hospital system here. NGO’s too have enthusiastically embraced it. Our graduates in Hong Kong are a constant source of inspiration for us, with so many of them working in the most difficult of circumstances; from children with severe, often, life-threatening disabilities through to frail elderly, also often with severe disabilities. Miracles are difficult to come by, but big improvements in quality of life are achievable, as they are showing. To some, that is a miracle. The work being done in an ever-growing number of primary schools by ISBT Centre coordinator and teacher Irene Lim, with children with special needs, is remarkable, turning around the lives of so many families. If ever there has been the right person for the right job (jobs, actually), it is Irene. Always an inspiration to us. Elsewhere in the world of ISBT, courses, both human and animal, continue to bop along steadily. Principal of the animal courses Suzanne Baker, probably the most qualified and experienced of Bowen Therapy animal teachers, juggles her work at Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong with dashes around the world to teach ISBT Equine and Canine courses. The lengthy training period for support teachers means a lot of extra work, but her passion for the techniques developed from the days of attending our first human course in HK and her lengthy background in chiropractic, is also inspiring. Suzanne is the reason we first came to Hong Kong, a little two sentence Email leading to such a successful result for ISBT-Bowen Therapy and the Hong Kong public. On a more somber note, our birthplace, Australia, and our adopted home, Portugal, know the reality of mankind’s strengths and weaknesses. Portugal had another rough year of bushfires in 2019. At this time in Australia, enthusiasm is being battered by the forces of nature twisted by humanity’s inability to work in harmony with nature. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the disastrous fires, especially those in mourning and the brave men and women on the front line. On that note, we head into the festive season and New Year with added inspiration and enthusiasm for our work but subdued by the realities of the broader world. We wish you supportive and loving times with families and/or friends and pray that the new year will be a turning point for humanity’s understanding of its true place in this little planet we made our home. Best wishes, Lisa and Col.

09.01.2022 I wish to share with our family, friends and Bowen Therapy colleagues one of Col's recent achievements which brought him great satisfaction. ..... I was pleased to work with Team Australia in the recent International Six Day Enduro motorcycle world championship event held in Portugal, in our back yard. Nearly 600 riders from 34 countries competed. There were 10 riders in the Australian team and I got to work with many of them. I don’t know if a manual therapist u...sing Bowen Therapy has ever been accepted into an official Australian sporting team before. The response from the riders and the team physio must have been okay as I’ve been invited to attend the Italian event in 2020. This year the Aussie juniors won their class and the Seniors, second, after winning in 2018. Unfortunately, the women’s team was without luck and suffered retirements. They had won the last six years in a row. Being involved in Team Australia is a coming together of two major aspects of my life. In younger days motorcycling was my life, both personally and professionally. These days I still enjoy riding my 700 Honda about the place and have been looking after one of the Portuguese champion riders for some years. It was a delight to be involved in the Algarve based event with such a professional team and an honour to be invited to be part of Team Australia for the 2020 event. Hopefully we are creating greater awareness of the possibilities of Bowen Therapy. Life, as ever, is incredibly interesting. Long may it be so. See more
