11.01.2022 Meet Ann-Marie Chandler, ICCC Trainer. Ann-Marie has hit the ground running, getting out and about meeting students and services with the ICCC Training team. Q: What lead you to become an Early Childhood Education and Care Trainer? A: Since leaving high school and studying, I have always worked within the early childhood profession. After over 20 years teaching, directing etc I wanted a new challenge and I wanted to share my passion for early childhood with others. I be...lieve new educators offer our profession new ideas and insights and I wanted to be a part of that journey. Q: What is your favourite children’s book? A: For me that is like asking which child is your favourite. I have a huge children's book collection and I love so many. I have had lots of learning opportunities with "where going on a bear hunt" by Michael Rosen. I also have collected other variations such as we’re going on a lion hunt, Easter egg hunt, crocodile hunt etc. But I suppose my real favourite book is 'For every child' The rights of the child in words and pictures by UNICEF. It has the most beautiful images from various illustrators from around the world. I have used this book with young children and now with students who are studying early childhood to bring the Conventions of the Rights of the Child to life. Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? A: I would love super speed so I could travel the world and achieve my to do list quickly. Q: What is your favourite art activity? A: I love finger painting and allowing children to explore this medium in the way they choose. I remember a little girl who took off her shoes and then proceeded to paint her hands and feet before doing handstands across the paper. This was a true joy to watch and shows the creativity and freedom of childhood. Q: What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten? A: I am a very plain eater but when I was younger, I used to eat vegemite, cheese and tomato sauce sandwiches (yes all together on the one sandwich!)

02.01.2022 Meet Hamish Tait, ICCC Trainer. Hamish is swinging into action, meeting students and services with the ICCC Training team. Q: What lead you to become an Ea...rly Childhood Education and Care Trainer? A: I have been an Early Childhood Educator for a long time and loved every second. Over time however, I saw that even though I adored being with the children, I could have an even greater effect by mentoring and guiding the educators themselves. Q: What is your favourite children’s book? A: This is a hard oneProbably Goodnight moon by Alison Lester, or maybe Tom Tom by Rosemary Sullivan. Q: What is your go to karaoke song? A: Oh gosh, again, so many but probably the main one would be All by myself by Celine Dion! Q: What is your favourite art activity? A: My all-time favourite art experience is playing a number of different songs and encouraging the children to paint what they feel when they hear the music. I play every kind of music and usually use records to add to the experience. You get some incredible artworks! Q: Are you a dog or cat person? A: DOG Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? A: Invisibility. Q: What is your favourite outdoor game? A: Shelter building! To see a child’s planning, imagination and problem solving is amazing. Q: What is the weirdest food you have ever eaten? A: Camel burgers, they are so delicious

02.01.2022 A beautiful environment for educators and children
