Studies have shown that starting your day with a nutritious breakfast helps you: keep your BMI low. consume less fat during the day. keep your daily fibre and calcium intake high.... perform better in tasks that utilise memory and attention. meet your daily nutritional needs. Eating breakfast literally means to break your fast. You give your metabolism a kickstart and your body the energy it needs to get going and keep going. Eating breakfast also lets your body know that there will be plenty of calories available during the day, and so your body will readily use its fat stores for energy. When you start the day without a meal your body believes that calories will not be abundant and will start hanging on to fat stores in anticipation of hunger. Make breakfast a meal to look forward to. Make sure you have the ingredients to create something wholesome and delicious (some things can be prepared in advance to give you more time in the morning) and you will never skip breakfast again!

The mind only wants to protect itself and will focus on blame, anger, negativity - emotions that will make the mind believe its own limited belief systems. 12.01.2022 Nadi Shuddhi Alternate Nostril Breathing Nadi shuddhi (which means subtle energy clearing technique in Sanskrit) is an ancient breathing technique which involves breathing alternately through each nostril. It can be done as part of your yoga or meditation practice, or as a technique on its own to enhance relaxation of the mind and body.... Its numerous benefits include: Encourages healthy cardiovascular function lowers heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate Lowers stress and anxiety levels Improves lung function Strengthens the ability of the mind to focus on the present moment rather than ruminating on past events or worrying about the future Simply sit in a comfortable position, with the left hand resting on the left thigh or in your lap. Bring your right hand up to your nose, resting your index and middle fingers between the eyebrows. Take a deep breath in and out. Your thumb will then block your right nostril as you slowly inhale through the left nostril. Block the left nostril with your ring finger for a moment before releasing the right nostril and exhaling slowly and fully. Pause before inhaling through the right nostril, then blocking it before releasing the left nostril and exhaling. This is one cycle. Keeping yourself grounded brings you out of the bubble of your mind and back into the present moment. There are many ways to ground yourself:... Physical activity or exercise: engaging in some brisk physical activity helps take you away from repetitive thoughts and brings you back into the feeling of your body. Your focus moves to the effort you make, the movement of your muscles, the breaths you are taking. Walking barefoot on the earth: feeling the ground underneath your bare feet is a wonderful way to bring your focus back to your body and your surrounds. Spending time in nature: connecting with the beauty and splendour of Mother Nature is not only grounding, but uplifting and regenerative.
