24.01.2022 February is Library Lover’s Month in the library! To celebrate students have been choosing one of their favourite library books and wrapping it up as part of the ‘ Blind Date with a Book’ display. Another class of students then borrow a book from the display without being able to look at the cover or read the blurb. The activity has been popular and it builds on open-mindedness because students get to try a book they may not have chosen otherwise!

20.01.2022 We checked in with our 2019 graduate Nadja to talk about life after ISWA. From relocating to Victoria and now studying International Politics and French at the University of Melbourne, she sure has achieved a lot since leaving school. We are very proud of the responsible and internationally minded community member Nadja is! Keep an eye out for more ISWA graduates updating us on where they are in the world now and difference they are making.

19.01.2022 Carrie Bowyer - 2020/2021 School Captain IB is not by any means an ''easy'' undertaking. However, it is an incredibly rewarding program and will develop skills applicable for the future. I decided to partake in the IB to expand my possibilities for universities and career opportunities. Now, being over halfway through my time in the IB, I am thankful that I have the skills to collaborate with other global citizens to create a more equitable world for future generations. For ...those thinking about applying to the IB program, you will gain an extraordinary about of wisdom, not just in your ''normal'' subject areas, but also how to navigate the bright future ahead of you. Although the IB is not always for everyone, I believe that to address the global issues facing our world today; we need people within our generation to stand for change. With the skills learnt through the IB, I believe that every one of us can stand against these injustices facing society. I am so excited to see where our generation will take the world, with ideas and collaborations forming across the globe, there are endless possibilities!

16.01.2022 Our Year 2’s had a fantastic incursion this morning with REmida Perth having a go at creatively reusing clean industrial discards. The students had to make something that moves using tools and recycled materials, with no tape or glue. They have been inquiring into how people apply their understanding of forces and materials to invent and create. Some of their creations included cars, robots and even a mouse! The students showed great resilience and thoughtful reflection during this task.

AP graduates are valued for their engagement in university-level work, their writing and problem-solving techniques and development of study habits necessary for tackling rigorous coursework. 02.01.2022 The International School of Western Australia (ISWA) has been a gratifying experience for our family. We were delighted the way our daughter, was welcomed by the Staff, Teachers, and her fellow year three classmates. From the very first day, she was excited to go to school, and every day was full of wonderful memories. The International Baccalaureate (IB) program allows our daughter to be a critical thinker and encourages her to develop intellectual, emotional, and social s...kills. She enthusiastically embraced the progressive teaching approach under the program. We are a global family that moves frequently but we are now happy to call ISWA our school of choice in Perth, Western Australia. In summary we could not be happier with our experience, and we expect our daughter to enthusiastically fulfil much of her primary and secondary education at the ISWA upon returning to Australia. - Parents of Year 3 student who have returned home to Vietnam

02.01.2022 To further Year 3’s investigation into temperatures altering the material state of matter, Mr O’Brien burnt wood in our fire pit for the students to observe the changes.
