22.01.2022 Microsoft Windows 10 was released today. For the past couple of months Microsoft has offered a ‘free upgrade to Windows 10’ for Windows 7,8 & 8.1 users. The offer is shown below. Starting today & over the next few weeks, those users that have ‘reserved’ their free upgrade to Windows 10 will have the setup files downloaded to their local computer in the background while connected to the internet (~4GB per system), if many computers on your network are downloading these files ...you will probably find that your internet will slow down considerably for the next few days. Be careful of excess data charges - those of you using wireless broadband. If you wish to Un-Reserve the update please follow the instructions on our Blog - http://www.interwise.net.au/about-free-windows-10-upgrade/ If you are unsure if the update has been ‘reserved’ & want to make sure your systems remain unaffected follow the 3 steps on our blog link above on each of your systems. * Those users that have chosen to ignore the ‘Get Windows 10’ upgrade alert will remain unaffected. * Users that are on a Microsoft Domain environment will generally remain unaffected. * Users that opt for your Patch management service will remain unaffected. If you want the Windows 10 upgrade please back up your important information & settings prior to installing the update you will have the chance to choose when the upgrade is installed once it has downloaded. We would suggest that you let the rest of the world upgrade and trial this upgrade for at least a few weeks before choosing to upgrade on your own systems.
