25.01.2022 The kids are happy Bulk liver treat delivery from the wonderful girls at The Barkery Deluxe Dog Treats in Buxton www.barkerydeluxedogtreats.com

25.01.2022 Today our hearts are broken into a million pieces, and will never be the same again. Seamus died this morning. 3 years and 2 days after his brother, it happened just the same. He was fine. Happy. Wagging. One moment he was standing in front of us by the fire, and the next, he fell to the floor. We tried everything, but he was gone. 3 months' short of his 9th birthday. Life is forever changed. He was my rock. My treasure. The best dog I have ever seen with a child. Our fearles...s protector and the best kisser on Earth. I will love him, remember and miss him until the end of time. "May the Valkyries welcome you and lead you through Odin's great Battlefield. May they sing your name with love and fury, so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla, and know you've taken your rightful place at the table of Kings. For today, a great man has fallen: a Warrior; a Chieftain; a Hero; a Friend." See more

23.01.2022 When the girls at The Barkery Deluxe Dog Treats in Buxton heard dear Fin was finding settling into a new home a bit of a dampener on his appetite, they put together an amazing selection of their most popular treats for him to try! He gave his number 1 and 2 votes to Peanut Butter & Liver Donuts and Dried Venison... so now we have a drawer full! Tremendous thanks to Roxane and Corrin... we’re so lucky to have such local talent and doggie dedication!! Put in an order for your spoiled somebody here: https://barkerydeluxedogtreats.com

16.01.2022 Hi Everyone - the Taggerty phone exchange seems to be playing up again. If you have trouble calling us, either FB message or text/call my mobile on 0418 556 001 (reception is poor, so leave a message if I can't pick up).

15.01.2022 LOST Sadly we rehomed a lovely older girl last weekend in the Yark area near Yea and Mansfield. But she had other thoughts, and within 24 hours managed to slip ...her lead from her new family and took off! She is scared and confused. Please please share this in hope she is found. Blue Australian Cattle Dog bitch name Jeannie. She was last seen near the Yark Pub and heading towards the creek. We are all frantic! All pounds, rangers and vets in the area have been notified. She is microchipped. Please contact me on 0412327133 if you even sight her! The best way to catch her is not pouncing on her but to sit on the ground and call her, preferably with food. She is kind, but she will be frightened!

13.01.2022 Good news: even in the city, the State Government is allowing Any services connected with animal health, husbandry or welfare to remain open. So I think we can safely say dog grooming all the way out here in Taggerty is well and truly permitted!

12.01.2022 It was so lovely to meet this absolute sweetheart of a girl (Bordoodle)

11.01.2022 Business Victoria has advised Melbourne groomers that they must close under Stage 4. Luckily, Murrindindi Shire is still only Stage 3, and my view is if hairdressers are allowed to stay open (which they are under Stage 3), then groomers are allowed to stay open! In The Pink is still open!

10.01.2022 Three years ago today, In The Pink lost its founder and everlasting inspiration, Fergal. I'll love you forever, my Big Boo.

10.01.2022 What we do on Sundays...

10.01.2022 The End of an Era. Long long ago, I took command of my very first dog obedience class, at the Healesville Dog Club. In it, was a young star named Milo. A rescued German Short-haired Pointer, He and his dear owners became fast favourites, and straight A students. And Milo made friends with my heart-dog, my first Dobermann, Fergal. In time, Seamus came along and they all played together before and after class. They had much in common! Nearly 18 months later, I met Milo’s owners’ human son, Simon... and the rest is history. Milo was happy to have Ferg and Seamus become official family, joining Simon’s own dogs, Bella and Ollie. As you know, 3 years ago, we lost Fergal, Bella and Ollie. And last month, we lost Seamus. This morning, Milo also said goodbye. Life, for all of us, never will be quite the same again.

09.01.2022 We just won the Dogs and Friends competition in the Australian Dog Photography group on Facebook!

09.01.2022 For Instagram fans, Kora has her own personal feed @thewackywakh www.instagram.com/thewackywakh

09.01.2022 Due to coronavirus we’re still asking clients to ring the bell and wait by the little gate, rather than walking into the salon. But for those who haven’t been in before, this is where the magic happens...

07.01.2022 My clients don't generally see my big handsome man, Seamus the Dobermann... but HE ALWAYS KNOWS YOU'RE THERE!!

07.01.2022 With Regional Victoria returning to Stage 3 restrictions, hairdressers are allowed to remain open, but they have not mentioned vets or groomers. However, to quote the State Government's own list, "other retail: open, but people can only visit for necessary goods and services." For owners of long-haired dogs, regular grooming is a welfare issue, and thus, a necessary service. So, In The Pink will be remaining OPEN, unless the Government actually directs groomers to close. I tried contacting local MPs for clarification during our last lockdown, but they could not assist. And direct calls to DHHS resulted in inconsistent answers. The Government is supposed to provide more details about businesses tomorrow, and I will update you if there is anything relevant.

05.01.2022 Kora makes a new Poodle friend (whilst Sparkles makes sure "Daddy" doesn't even THINK about talking to anyone else!)

05.01.2022 Gorgeous Danno. In his younger days he was a handsome firecracker, bouncing, barking and biting at the detested blow dryer. These days, he has a neurological disorder resulting in limited, very awkward mobility, and although he enjoyed having his warm bath lying down, I could see his face change when he knew it was time to be dried - but he knew he could no longer defend himself. So, a change of routine... he was already happy lying in the bath, so after chamois-drying him ...as thoroughly as possible, I added a thick soft towel under him, not one but two happy-hoodies over his ears to muffle the sound and stop annoying airflow, then dug out my old, first ever dryer from the back of the cupboard, which has half the power of my usual dryer, so half the noise and air-sensation, took off the nozzle to make it even gentler, then aided luckily by the walls of the bath keeping the warm air in and a radiant heater overhead, very slowly worked through his beautiful coat, an inch at a time. It wasn’t fast - but it kept Danno feeling relaxed and secure, which, in his condition, is far more important! Though it may take the rest of the day to re-straighten my back See more

05.01.2022 Kora has become the first Azawakh to have an official grooming video! As a Certified Master Groomer, I'm one of the presenters for www.igroomhub.com.au , one of the largest online education platforms used by TAFEs, salons and individual groomers at all stages of their careers. They're currently expanding their rare breeds section and asked to use Kora due to her rich colour and striking markings. (Now I know there's not exactly much to grooming an Azawakh! But this was more about raising awareness of the breed, and teaching groomers the general principles important to handling sensitive sighthounds, being aware of "thin skin" and creating a high-shine on a smooth-coat). The site is subscription only, so I'm sorry you can't watch the videos - but just had to share the news!

04.01.2022 Kora loves helping in the salon
