25.01.2022 Service is above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble. Fittings available and a better range than the big chain stores. Prices are great parking easy and open 6 days. Very good quality. I travel an hour just to shop in this store.

19.01.2022 All in a nights work - nightshift last night for our Cat 1 crew along with Marangaroo and Wallerawang crews, consisted of asset protection and fire suppression ...as the main fire front moved through Lidesdale. On our way back to station we were also tasked to an abandoned car fire, quickly extinguished by RFS crews and NSW Fire and Rescue. See more

16.01.2022 I had spent an hour in the bank with my dad, as he had to transfer some money. I couldn't resist myself & asked... ''Dad, why don't we activate your internet ba...nking?'' ''Why would I do that?'' He asked... ''Well, then you wont have to spend an hour here for things like transfer. You can even do your shopping online. Everything will be so easy!'' I was so excited about initiating him into the world of Net banking. He asked ''If I do that, I wont have to step out of the house? ''Yes, yes''! I said. I told him how even grocery can be delivered at door now and how amazon delivers everything! His answer left me tongue-tied. He said ''Since I entered this bank today, I have met four of my friends, I have chatted a while with the staff who know me very well by now. You know I am alone...this is the company that I need. I like to get ready and come to the bank. I have enough time, it is the physical touch that I crave. Two years back I got sick, The store owner from whom I buy fruits, came to see me and sat by my bedside and cried. When your Mom fell down few days back while on her morning walk. Our local grocer saw her and immediately got his car to rush her home as he knows where I live. Would I have that 'human' touch if everything became online? Why would I want everything delivered to me and force me to interact with just my computer? I like to know the person that I'm dealing with and not just the 'seller'. I have never been measured before... but Glenda was friendly and reassuring and let me know what Id been getting wrong over the last 50 years. 13.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Ive just watched the Prime Ministers Press Conference which has just announced 2 new measures, following the national Cabinet meeting: W...hat he stated, that has come out of it is............ Firstly, Social Distancing is our biggest weapon in fighting the Coronavirus. This will help control and slow the spread of this disease. (Unfortunately many people are still turning up to venues and ignoring the rules) The PM has announced that this is a National approach and that they want these rules to be followed across all jurisdictions...this is about SAVING LIVES. - From midday tomorrow, indoor venues where there are gatherings will close including: * Registered and licensed clubs * Licensed parts of pubs and hotels (but not accommodation or bottle shops) *Entertainment venues like cinemas and nightclubs *Places of worship and religious gatherings *Restaurants and cafes to be restricted to take away only. Schools to remain open until the end of the term. -If parents choose to keep their children at home, they are responsible for them. I know many of you will be concerned about the impacts of these changes on our communities - I am too - but what we do now and over the coming weeks will determine how we control the trajectory of this virus and most importantly save LIVES. I will continue to post updates with more details as they become available. Remember, now more than ever we need to support each other to keep our community healthy.

06.01.2022 With bushfire activity at the moment, a tip for those who live on the urban interface (next to bushland) If you dont already, get yourself a water tank. As ...big as you can afford and have room for. Dont rely on town water - it will be overrun during firefighting efforts. If you have a tank already make sure you add a Storz fitting (pictured). These are the fittings that Fire and Rescue NSW and New South Wales Rural Fire Service both use. Unfortunately, sometimes the fire will just be too big and strong to defend with regular hoses, but having Storz fittings attached will assist with property survivability. Being prepared cant hurt. 04.01.2022 The Lithgow Police has requested that the business community of Main Street fly blue balloons out the front of their premises on Thursday morning, 14th January,... 2021, in memory of the fallen Police Officer, Snr. Constable Kelly Foster. The service will be held at Hoskins Memorial Church, with full Police Honours. The cortege will then proceed down Main Street to Harvey Norman with all Police Honours, cars, bikes, 100 police marching, Polair and horses.
