22.01.2022 Our festive season installation for 2020 is a symbol of renewal, perhaps more pertinent a theme than ever before in the midst of a pandemic and after the devastating recent bushfires. Our installations are a celebration of the season and a tangible contribution to the farmers and artisans who’ve lost so much. Designed & created by Maria Claudia, Samambaia Flowers. 19.01.2022 Let's move together for Cerebral Palsy this STEPtember Our very own Chetan, Shane, Luke and Chris are walking 10,000 steps each day for 28 days to help make a difference to the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy. "My next-door neighbours youngest son, was born with Cerebral Palsy. I grew up in a cul-de-sac with a lots of kids in the street, and I saw first hand how difficult it was for him and his family on just simple tasks. As kids we would play in the cul-de-...sac, and would always include him in our games etc. It made me realise as a young kid, that whilst this is hard for him and the family, as a more able body person, keeping him involved and taking the time to allow him to have the fun that we had was so important. To see the difference we made for him and his family in such a small way, was truly an amazing feeling." 05.01.2022 Today is Australian National Flag Day - an opportunity for individuals, community organisations, local authorities, businesses and schools to celebrate with pride the anniversary of the Australian National Flag. Australian National Flag Day, proclaimed in 1996 as a national day, celebrates the first time the flag was flown on 3 September 1901. On that day Prime Minister Edmund Barton announced the winners of a competition to design a flag for Australia. A large flag, 5.5 metr...es by 11 metres, was flown over the dome of the Exhibition Building in Melbourne. At that time the flag was known as the Commonwealth blue ensign; later, the flag became known as the Australian National Flag. All Australians are encouraged to fly or display the Australian National Flag to celebrate Australian National Flag Day on 3 September each year. #australianationalflagday
