Our acting Executive Officer is working from home and is available via email, phone or video conference. Now, more than ever, we need to believe that our communities can become stronger, more vibrant, and healthy. 20.01.2022 The Foundation was pleased to support the Myrtleford Chamber of Commerce with its local delivery service as part of the Bushfire Recovery & Pandemic Small Grants Program. This grant is an excellent example of how the Foundation can mobilise quickly to support north east community groups to be self-sustaining in the longer term. 20.01.2022 New Small Grants Program Into Our Hands Community Foundation is pleased to announce a new Small Grants Program in partnership with the Nelson Alexander Charitable Foundation and other generous donors. Grants of up to $3,000 are available to support local community organisations in North East Victoria as they regain their viability and resilience during the bushfire recovery and pandemic period. 19.01.2022 Our wonderful donated prize of two elton john tickets and wangaratta accomodation is still up for grabs for all those that donate to our local bushfire appeal. You could could be the lucky recipient. We draw the prize wednesday night! All funds donated will be going tonwards releif efforts and we aleady have two requests in to help local hospitals and the community recovery and planning processes. Watch this space !

19.01.2022 Over the weekend Everton Hotel celebrated Australia Day by holding a Bushfire relief fundraiser, they nominated Into Our Hands Community Foundation as their charity and all funds raised contributed to our Bushfire Appeal Fund for North East Victoria. Over $4000 was raised by this amazing local community in support of their neighbours in the Alpine and Wangaratta shires. This takes our current bushfire appeal fund value to over $34,000. Into Our Hands Board Chair, Ruth Kneebone, said, "This Australian first project documents the philanthropic potential for our region should more people begin to give local endowments at the end of their lives. We will educate people about the potential for building a legacy that will strengthen the future capacity of their communities. Once complete, we expect that in the future, community foundations will be able to adopt our model to enable transformative change for communities throughout Australia."

Thanks FRRR Rotary Club of Appin Park Wangaratta and Milawa Primary School for helping make this happen! 60 local familes will receive vouchers to support them with back to school costs! 14.01.2022 Big News and great news! @GlobalGiving have donated $20,000 USD to our local North East Vic Bushfire Appeal. We are now an approved charity partner and able to receive funds donated from all over the world. 13.01.2022 Our current EO, Sarah Thompson is about to take a break from the Foundation for her maternity leave for 6-8 months but we are very pleased to announce that Jenny Griffiths has been appointed acting Executive Officer for the rest of the year. Jenny grew up near Wangaratta, and after studying in Melbourne as a young adult returned to the North East Victoria. She lives in Mt Beauty and has worked in not profit organisations previously in executive management roles. More recent...ly, Jenny resumed her studies with the goal to become a registered psychologist. Jenny also works as a HR consultant with Total HRM, specialising in workplace investigations, strategic development and change management. Jenny is excited to be leading Into Our Hands with a range of exciting projects developing over the next 12 months. The Board and Chair of the Into Our Hands welcomes Jenny to the Foundation and she looks forward to supporting the foundation and our funds, donors and communities across North East Victoria.
