18.01.2022 These reforms allow survivors to identify themselves on social media or to simply give written permission for a publisher or broadcaster to name them, and the offence committed against them, without fear of prosecution.

18.01.2022 Happy Diwali!!! Diwali is the Festival of Lights and celebrated primarily by Hindu people, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists. We usually have a wonderful event together- but for obvious reasons, we can’t this year, so our InSpire team celebrated remotely yesterday.

12.01.2022 "An asylum seeker, mother of three, and survivor of domestic violence, Nadia had been supporting her family by working as a kitchen aid in Sydney. But the call from her boss confirmed she was now out of the job, depriving her overnight of the ability to pay for basics such as rent, phone credit and even food. Unlike others in the community, Nadia is excluded from the Government's JobKeeper and JobSeeker programs because of her visa status."

08.01.2022 What. A. Year. As we get ready to wave goodbye to 2020 a year that will forever be remembered for its trials and challenges, we’d like to reflect on the incredible strength and resilience of our inTouch community. This year we’ve supported more women than ever before. We’ve advocated for clients from migrant and refugee backgrounds, supported sector-leading research, published multiple position papers and increased awareness through the media. We’ve developed specialist r...esources for practitioners, run communities of practice and supported victim-survivors with in-language information through our COVID-19 info hub. We’ve continued working with men who use violence and taken inSpire programs to new heights, providing targeted support to women rebuilding their lives after family violence ends. And you were right there with us. Volunteering your time, donating to fund our work, championing our cause, and standing in solidarity with women experiencing family violence across Victoria. Thank you. As you set your goals for the new year, ask yourself ‘how can I make the world a little brighter?' Pledge a donation to our inSpire initiative, set a community-service goal or use your unique power to fight for a better future for women and their children. Together, we can inSpire change. inSpire change this new year bit.ly/inSpire-change

03.01.2022 "An English language test for partner visa applicants won’t help prevent domestic violence. Instead, it would be another hurdle for applicants, giving perpetrators more opportunity to use their victim’s visa status as a means of control.

02.01.2022 While this holiday season may be different from previous years, help remains available for anyone struggling.
