23.01.2022 What a wonderful morning...

21.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MARATHONERS A lot has to be said about running a marathon. Many of you will know .... The hours of training, the torment of pace plans, the OCD cleanliness to stay healthy and the juggling act to train/ while still being nice to your family. This weekend there were a handful of runners who finally raced their marathon . Saturday.. Susan McGee, David Wood, Lisa OBrien & Paul Newsham raced the 2 up trail marathon. Congrats to all these runners becau...se that was one very tough course. Today Mark Vaughan , Rachel Levine, Bob Sainsbury, Loretta Bayliss, Phil Teakle, Lauren Burraston, Patrick Sims all raced the marathon. Congrats to you all. There was something special for all with PB's for Mark 3:44, Rachel 4:01, Lauren 2:58, Patrick 2:58, Phil Teakle 3:11. A first marathon for Bob... Always a special moment. And for Loretta, she ran in Wayne's World costume to support a friend who has a brain tumour. There were so many PB's today in all the distances as you saw in the board pics already posted. A special mention for super speedy runs by Jayden Lyttle who ran 1:13 & Marty Kelly 1:15:20. Finally, today was so wonderful for our community to reconnect at a 'race'. It was wonderful to see the support from the intraining community to cheer and run with your running buddies. Rest and recover and see you all at the next race!!

20.01.2022 COVID 19 Stage 3 Training Policies With the introduction of stage 3 restrictions there is a relaxation of the social distancing requirements at training sessions. The expansion to groups of 100 now means that all of our training sessions can return with full numbers. You should now follow the following updated guidelines: 1. If you are unwell then please stay home.... 2. You must still sign in so that contact tracing can occur however this is much easier with our cashless system. Please register for the online payment system before coming to training. When you arrive you just need to scan the coaches QR code. Any non-runners attending should check in with the coach at the start to record your details. 3. While running social distancing is no longer required however maintain your 1.5M space when not running. As there are no longer multiple groups co-mingling between groups is no longer a factor. 4. We encourage you to bring your own water bottle and it is up to your own judgement to use public bubblers or not. 5. Practice good hygiene by avoiding contact with other runners and any surfaces wherever possible. This includes avoiding hand shaking and equipment like cones and bubblers. Hand sanitiser will be available at the start and finish if you wish to use it. Queensland now has two active cases and there has been no community transmission for around 2 months. The chances of anyone catching Covid19 at our training sessions is extremely small. There has been no identified cases in Queensland of outdoor transmission of the virus. While we will continue to follow the government directives on social distancing you should no longer feel worried about catching Covid19 at training. See you at training!

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Ruben Ripper for completing his first marathon - not something many a 14 year old would dream of accomplishing! 3:50:23 It looked like intraining had taken over the Sandgate foreshore this morning with so many Chermside runners out there supporting Ruben, and in another pack, Alicia Kennedy was very well supported in her fantastic marathon achievement from the Wilston crew (who also looked mighty strong out there!). Im sure well have an update shortly from the crew on this wonderful accomplishment also.

13.01.2022 Hello runners. We are organising the Cross country for Queensland Athletics this Sunday afternoon. We need some volunteers as Marshals on the Course. If you could arrive at 11:30 you should be finished not long after 2pm. QA are doing registrations and results and there will be no canteen due to Covid so we only need 6 people. Can you please message Steve Manning and post below if you are available. If you are running then you can split the job with another runner. Thanks

09.01.2022 Hello Club Members. This is the start lists for our Club Race Virtual Gold Coast Marathon. I have collated everyone who has posted up their goal for Sunday. As we are now at stage 3 with a 100 person limit we can now start everyone at the same time with the marathon and half marathoners at 5:30am and the 10km and some extras at 7:00am. Can you please come to the finish at least 15 minutes before your start so that you have time to organise your drinks and get to the sta...rt line which is 1km away. You can use that as your warmup. I have posted the lists in pace order so you can see who you will have to run with. Remember our pacing strategy of going at a slower pace for the first 3km in a half and 5km in the marathon followed by a steady pace for as long as possible. There is also a list of people who have said they are coming but have not yet posted their distance and pace. If you could please email [email protected] then I will add you to the start lists. Please note that this is a club event and runners should be club members to attend. This is to keep us under the current 100 person maximum. Please remember that the roads are not closed for this club race. You need to keep to the road edge where possible and be constantly aware of bikes and cars. Be careful crossing the road at all times and look behind you before you change direction. Wear a light for the early start and light clothing or the club uniform. See you Sunday and good luck for your run. See more

06.01.2022 We can proudly bestow the title of "marathoner" upon another intraining runner today, with Alicia Kennedy finishing her first in 4:46! In near perfect conditions along the fast Redcliffe and Sandgate foreshores, it was a morning made for running glory. So much of Alicia's base training took place in those isolated months before the groups could restart, underlining just how determined and fierce a runner that she is. On top of that determination, Alicia's race planni...ng was its own marvel to behold...the detail in those pace and course notes left nothing to chance. A shout out also to a solid contingent of Wilston runners - and a few Chermside runners out supporting Ruben's 42km assault - who formed a Kipchoge-esque pacing group around her from start to finish (no lasers required ). She was greeted at her virtual run's finish line by excited friends and family, and even ended up with two race medals. The first was one that the kids had made using shells secretly collected from the beach the week before. The other, a loan of a previous Gold Coast Marathon medal until her virtual event's one arrives. Congratulations, Alicia! Enjoy the spoils and the well-earned rest.

04.01.2022 What a day!!! Congrats to everyone who ran this weekend for the start of the Gold Coast Virtual. Post what you did and how you went. This is the board from UQ. Thanks Steve Manning for organising the UQ run.

03.01.2022 SCANNING QR CODES & PRE-CHECK IN's for training. Great to see more faces back at training and more of the online wallets being used. IMPORTANT NOTE: ... You may at some stage get access to pre-check in links from your coaches. They will let you know when they are ready for this to happen. Please check in ONLY within the 24 hour period of the coaching session. Your check in is time stamped to correlate with the coach and several of our coaches manage multiple sessions in a week. It will be too confusing for our admin to allocate correctly if you become super organised and check in days in advanced. Thanks for your help here. Margot P.S. If you have any questions or challenges or comments please message Benjo Francisco or Hazel Buscato. We're here to make this as easy as possible for you and the coaches. See more

02.01.2022 The new Club Singlets and T-shirts have finally arrived from our new supplier On the Go Australia. It has been a very long wait for us all. Its taken a lot of hard work and countless hours spent behind the scenes tweaking the various designs, to create an intraining singlet and t-shirt that is more runner friendly, in fit, feel and fabric. Our ladies singlets and t-shirts are now tailored to offer a more women specific fit, with the back of the singlet/t-shirt being slig...htly longer and curved along the bottom. The men's singlet and t-shirt has had a little make over as well. We have dropped the seam under the arm to help prevent chaffing and have adjusted the neck line on both the singlet and the t-shirt. Heres hoping you all love the new and improved intraining singlets and t-shirts and that you enjoy running in them as much as being a part of the intraining running community. If you havent collected your intraining club singlet or t-shirt for the 2019/2020 club year, then come and visit us at the intraining Running Centre. A complete size range is available in singlets and t-shirts to try on for size.
