03.01.2022 Christmas can be such a stressful time, with all the rushing around and last minute chores and errands. More and more people are taking advantage of the online world to get stuff done. But REMEMBER! Scammers are on the rise. Double and triple check any season’s greetings. Make sure they are from ACTUAL friends, not actual fiends!... Double and triple check any links in online orders to make sure they aren't fake ones. The dodgy ones can look SO REAL these days! Do yourself a favour and change all passwords before you switch out the lights on the last day of work. Worry about forgetting them later, you can always retrieve them. NEVER use "save password" on web logins just to save a bit of time. The security risks are immense if someone else gains access to your web sites. Always use STRONG passwords! We don't give a rats how frustrating that is. Just do it! Write them down (securely) or come up with a coding system But MAKE THEM TOUGH TO REMEMBER! If it's tough for you, imagine how the hackers will fare! Watch out for new online Xmas bargain stores! Are they really legit? Australia Post is a busy place over Christmas. Be on the lookout for the now infamous fake parcel post scams! When ordering stuff online make sure the pages web address starts with "HTTPS". The "S" is critical here, it stands for "secure" Keep in touch via tech! Chatting with absent loved ones is as easy as grabbing a webcam (or a laptop) and Skype! Best of all, Skype is free to most users! BE PATIENT! Our most important advice is to just take a deep breath and be patient with your tech over the silly season. We hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
