24.01.2022 With more and more people working from home (including hubby), I realise how tough it can be for those who are new to it. Even though I've been at it for almost 10 years, there are times when things can get overwhelming, you can easily be distracted and waste minutes and hours on things that are irrelevant. Welcome to the Power Hour. It's a tactic I use when I feel overwhelmed, need to focus and stop procrastinating. Here's how to use your time wisely... 1. Highlight 3 thing...s on your to do list that you absolutely must do today. 2. Turn off all distractions so this means setting your mobile to silent, turn off notifications, shut down your emails and get off social media. If you have kids at home, set them a task such as a lego challenge, painting or a movie. 2. Set a timer for 1 hour. 3. Get to work! When that timer rings you'll be surprised at how much you have accomplished in 1 hour. You may find that you're on a roll and want to keep going to get the task finished. If not that's ok too, it will mean you've worked solidly on one of your tasks and are closer to completing it. Take a break, get some fresh air and move onto your next task. You'll be crossing off things off (is there any better feeling?) in no time!

Over the past few weeks, I've been involved in providing consultations, feedback and support to the final year marketing student groups. It's been wonderful to see them take many of my recommendations on board and incorporate these into their pitches. 15.01.2022 Thanks to Swinburne University for inviting me to be a guest lecturer and present 'Social Media for Business' to the digital marketing students yesterday. The session was an insight into social media from a small business perspective. I shared insights into Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, the benefits and how I work with my clients to develop social media strategy and content. This time the setting was a little different, rather than being in front of the students at the Hawthorn campus, we were all online and thankfully it all went smoothly. There were close to 70 students attend and it was great to have many of them stay online for up to an hour after the session to ask more questions.

The last few days have made me realise my heart is full of gratitude gratitude for so so many people in my world, the times when I was forced to slowwww right down, the opportunity to spend lots of time with my family, the challenges that helped me grow, the fresh air on my face, the sunshine, the lessons and all the memories that came out of the unusual year that was 2020. 12.01.2022 Intrinsic Marketing was created to help small businesses play a bigger game. Today I had to write a description about Intrinsic Marketing and how the business journey began. It was a REALLY great reminder for me, so I thought I'd share it with you... Coming from a corporate background, I found that small businesses don't have the presence they needed to thrive, business owners don't know what marketing principles will work and they certainly don't have the time to implement ...many (if any) marketing strategies. Branding, communications, most forms of marketing and especially digital marketing all lack consistency and professionalism. That's how it started. Almost 10 years in, the business has grown, it's mostly word of mouth (how lucky am I to have great clients!) and I still REALLY love what I do. I love supporting small businesses attract the right clients, amplify their messaging and accelerate their business success. Do what you love, love what you do Go on and share your business story and remember why you began.

09.01.2022 Yesterday it was uni students, today I worked with a group of year 5 and year 6 students from St Fidelis Primary School. I am working on a special project and running a focus group to help them learn more about the design and branding process. I've prepared an information pack for the first session and am looking forward to the creativity and ideas that they will bring to the table over the coming weeks

05.01.2022 February, oh my... we're already into the second month of 2020 and it seems to have flown! We've been busy working away - quietly - and it feels a little more comfortable to resurface. I've been really quiet on the social front in the last couple of months. The local and national events left me devastated and shocked and my heart ached seeing so many people, communities, wildlife affected. There is huge impact and flow on effect for so many people including the very brave peo...ple who were, and still are, on the front line fighting. I know that I will endeavour to continue to support where I can and hope to revisit some of the beautiful towns affected in the future, so they can return to a new normality and rebuild. Let's continue to show our support. #grateful

05.01.2022 Late last year I was excited to be involved in the rebranding of St Fidelis Primary School. As part of the project I ran a Design Focus Group with a selected group of Year 5 & 6 students and their input in this project was incredible. This young group of students embraced learning more about the branding and design process and demonstrated their creativity in designing their ideas for a new visual brand. I worked with their designs and incorporated the elements they chose to... use into design options for the new branding. The new branding has been warmly welcomed by the school and its community and I thank the students for their fresh ideas and inspiration. The branding continues to be consistently applied across digital and print mediums in internal and external communications. Here’s a billboard that I recently designed for St Fidelis Primary School, thanking the community and all those people who continue to work to keep us all safe. And I couldn’t agree more!
