25.01.2022 Find out about Jesus this Easter

23.01.2022 Jessica on Introducing God.

17.01.2022 How do you help your church members own evangelism and outreach / keep track of mission contacts - be thinking missionally and caring personally for non Christians who visit? We’re joined by Hunter Bible Church and Unichurch, Newcastle’s Missions Pastor Sam Hilton. How do you train, equip and unleash people for mission and evangelism? a speciality team? every member? ... What does your yearly mission cycle look like? What are the core ministries within mission at Hunter? Ie. if you could only do or run a handful of things each year, what would they be? (events? programs? teams? training? course? element in preaching/teaching?) Most churches have regular ministries that happen throughout the year like bible study groups, Sunday services, kids ministries - How do you prepare your church for the big annual events on top of the regular ministries. to train them for them, and helping them to think missionally amongst everything else? does everyone get involved or just a portion? How do you do this in a small church that has a lot of other ministries without overloading people? How do you manage follow-up after big funnel events / high newcomer times? January seems to be a popular time for newcomers coming to church but they're not usually the guests that we've had come along in December. Have you found a good way of getting Christmas guests to return in January? It seems that in december, people come to church because fun things are on, community and traditions are happening - it's what people do. But then in January, you get the people who are more open to finding out more about Christianity / joining a new church because they've moved. So they're both busy times, but with people who have different motives or reasons for coming. How do you turn Christmas guests into genuine seekers? How do you help your church members think about staying at church during the high newcomer times, which also seem to be the times when regular members go away / on holidays - Christmas, January, Easter. Do you have a regular evangelistic group that meets on a weeknight? Are the people who lead this ministry also required to attend another weeknight bible study group? how do you sustain it's leaders by helping them meet with other Christians to read the bible but not feel too stretched by having too many nights out each week. How do you celebrate the wins? share the stories of people coming to faith with your church? what do you do with the people who have finished the evangelistic course but aren't quite christian? How do you help new Christians become more integrated and mature in the faith? Does your church feel a tension between the global and local mission of the church - how do you lift people's gaze to a bigger picture of God's mission in the world, while still being active in sharing the gospel in the patch that we're responsible for? Please put your questions below. To subscribe to our podcast: http://www.thepastorsheart.net

03.01.2022 We ran the evangelistic course Introducing God via Zoom on Monday night. Everyone chatted. Then watched the video, then talked again via zoom. The hosts tell me that it worked - much better than they had anticipated. We have set all the Introducing God course videos to stream for free for the corona season. ...
