15.01.2022 Win a free baby massage class - via Skype Understandably everyone is feeling a little anxious at this time.... Due to the well advised restrictions all baby massage classes are being put on hold. I don't want to have to stop spreading the love of baby massage so I am now offering one on one sessions via Skype. I will initially run the sessions as a one hour Private Introductory Class for $45 (private sessions at home are normally $60). Partners and grandparents always very welcome. To celebrate the launch of this new service I am giving away a free Skype session. All you need to do is tag a friend or two into this post. Entries close midnight 27th March. We all need to stay connected and there ins no better way to connect with your baby then through massage.

13.01.2022 My classes have been a little quieter over the last few months and the ones I have been doing have been online (which has been fun and has meant I have leant a whole stack of new skills!!!). Today I finally got to have a face to face class - it was great to be back with the Mums and bubs ( appropriately socially distanced of course!). The session was with Starick which is an organisation that supports women and families affected by domestic violence. I always feel so privi...leged to be able work with the Starick Mums. Women that have endured so much but are always grateful and gracious. They are always looking for support. https://www.starick.org.au/

04.01.2022 Why does attachment mean so much for babies? Attachment is the way that babies know they are safe. Its the way their brains are designed to grow, using subtle ...serve and return social communication to know they belong, they are seen and held. Attachment is the basis of trust for babies. When babies do not feel attached, their brains can go into fight or flight mode and produce stress hormones which can have a negative effect on the body and mind when happening repeatedly. Babies are designed to be in very close physical proximity to their care givers in the first 9 months. We can see this in their physical and mental development. We are not born to be alone. We are born to be held. We are born to have physical closeness and connection. Baby massage and skin to skin practice builds connection and enables bonding. Its how we can sync with our babies and communicate love. Daily skin to skin, cuddle practice or massage helps build trust and communication. Its so simple and so powerful. 03.01.2022 RP @blossomandberrybabymassage BRAINS Babies brains are around 20% developed when they are born and have up to twice the synapses it will have in adulthood. ...The billions of neurons and synapses that are ready and waiting will form pathways that will build the architecture of babies brains for all future relationship building, communication, learning, understanding, and movement patterns. By age 3 your babys brain is 80% of its adult volume. The critical window for these pathways to form are the first 1001 days (conception to 3 years) but they do continue to develop into early adulthood. A plethora of evidence supports the fact that early infancy and childhood experiences impact a developing brain for a lifetime and when theyre shown loving, caring interactions and provided with age appropriate stimulation, they will more than survive, they will more likely thrive. When we teach baby massage and baby yoga, we are empowering parents to nurture the growth of their babys brains to enhance their babys mental health, social skills, language development, understanding of the world, sensory processing, and physical development.
