12.01.2022 Baby has COVID. Mom does not. Look at the change in the milk! (Edited to add that mom DID have COVID) When you breastfeed your baby a small amount of saliva goe...s back into your breast which allows your baby and your milk to communicate. What your witnessing here is baby letting Mama’s body know that they were sick and Mama’s body responding with antibodies. Never underestimate the power of what your doing when you breastfeed your baby! by Loyal Lactation . #pregnant #breastfeeding #breastfedbaby #ebfbaby

09.01.2022 The study involved restricting mice from using their hind legs, but not their front legs, over a period of 28 days. The mice continued to eat and groom normally and did not exhibit stress. At the end of the trial, the researchers examined an area of the brain called the sub-ventricular zone, which in many mammals has the role of maintaining nerve cell health. It is also the area where neural stem cells produce new neurons. Limiting physical activity decreased the number of ne...ural stem cells by 70 percent compared to a control group of mice, which were allowed to roam. Furthermore, both neurons and oligodendrocytes specialized cells that support and insulate nerve cells didn’t fully mature when exercise was severely reduced. The research shows that using the legs, particularly in weight-bearing exercise, sends signals to the brain that are vital for the production of healthy neural cells, essential for the brain and nervous system. Cutting back on exercise makes it difficult for the body to produce new nerve cells some of the very building blocks that allow us to handle stress and adapt to challenge in our lives. It is no accident that we are meant to be active: to walk, run, crouch to sit, and use our leg muscles to lift things, says Adami. Neurological health is not a one-way street with the brain telling the muscles ‘lift,’ ‘walk,’ and so on. Read more: https://www.google.com//neuroscience-leg-exercise-bra/amp/

06.01.2022 SYSTEMATIC REVIEW FINDS BENEFIT OF SMT IN CERVICOGENIC HEADACHE. Chiropractors are often consulted by patients seeking treatment for headache. Spinal manipulati...ve therapy (SMT) is frequently used to manage headaches arising from the cervical spine, known as cervicogenic headache (CGHA). No meta-analysis had previously investigated the effectiveness of SMT exclusively for CGHA. In this review, 5 databases identified randomized controlled trials comparing SMT with other manual therapies. At short-term follow-up, there was a significant, small effect favouring SMT for pain intensity and small effects for pain frequency (standardized mean difference. There was no effect for pain duration. There was a significant, small effect favouring SMT for disability. At intermediate follow-up, there was no significant effects for pain intensity and a significant, small effect favouring SMT for pain frequency. At long-term follow-up, there was no significant effects for pain intensity and for pain frequency . Spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) can be considered an effective treatment modality, with this review suggesting it providing superior, small, short-term effects for pain intensity, frequency and disability when compared with other manual therapies. These findings may help clinicians in practice better understand the treatment effects of SMT alone for CGHA.
