25.01.2022 RULES FOR FINANCIAL SUCCESS: 1. Spend less than you earn. 2. Save and invest as much as you can.... 3. Don't do anything stupid! You got this! #GetIntentional

24.01.2022 Gotta have that coffee to help kickstart the day. Mornings aren’t quite the same without it. Do you have a morning ritual?... #GetIntentional

23.01.2022 Jay-Z was onto something. If 2020 has taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. Saving up an emergency fund of at least 3 months worth of living expenses will help to weather the financial storm - be it a loss of income, unexpected medical expenses, or the cost of emergency repairs to your car or home.... One thing is certain. There are more rainy days ahead, so make sure you carry a big umbrella. #GetIntentional

21.01.2022 I remember a lot of talk from Mum and Dad about money not growing on trees! It would have been handy to know more about the magic of compound interest. #GetIntentional

21.01.2022 Ain't nothin' but a heartache.

21.01.2022 Is it being in a position to work because you want to, not because you have to? Is it being able to help your parents or kids financially? Is it simply not having to worry about how you are going to pay your bills?... What does financial freedom mean to you?

19.01.2022 One of the biggest money mistakes I see people making over and over again is buying things they don’t really need with money they don’t really have. Let me explain. In a world of buy now, pay later it has never been easier to have the latest and greatest tech, upgrade the car to the current model, or go on that overseas holiday you’ve been dreaming about.... Well, maybe not overseas RIGHT now, but you get what I mean. There is no shortage of finance companies willing to lend you the money and sign you up for a payment plan (60 months interest free!) however the reality is if you can’t find the cash to pay upfront, you simply can’t afford it. And when you really think about it, if you are borrowing money today for things that are only going to reduce in value over time, you are actually borrowing from your future self. One of the simplest - and quickest - ways to build wealth is to get out from under your repayments so that you can start saving and investing for the future. So the next time you’re in the showroom staring at those shiny new wheels, instead of asking can I afford the repayments? ask yourself can I afford it?. Your future self will thank you for it. WHAT COULD YOU ACHIEVE IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE REPAYMENTS?

15.01.2022 ARE YOU MISSING OUT ON THIS TAX OFFSET? No one likes paying more tax than they need to, and with the new financial year just beginning now is a great time to start thinking about deductions and offsets that you may be entitled to in the coming year. Did you know that if you make contributions to a super fund on behalf of your spouse (married or de facto) you may be able to claim a tax offset?... A tax offset of up to $540 applies where your spouse’s annual income is less than $37,000 and contributions of up to $3,000 are made into super on their behalf. The tax offset reduces when your spouse's income is greater than $37,000 and completely phases out when your spouse’s income reaches $40,000. Contributions can be made regularly over the course of the year, or if you prefer, in a single lump sum. Conditions apply, so make sure you contact us (or speak with your super fund) to check if this strategy is right for you. #GetIntentional

15.01.2022 Your income is your most important wealth building tool. Understanding your financial commitments and spending habits empowers you to get intentional with every dollar that you earn. A spending plan (or budget) will allow you to identify any surplus cash flow that can be saved and invested for your future.... The sooner you take control of your money, the sooner you will start building wealth. Take control of tomorrow today! #GetIntentional #MakeWorkOptional

13.01.2022 The US stock market recently achieved all-time highs, despite a global recession and historic levels of American job losses. You might ask yourself the question: how is that possible? Since investment markets constantly react to economic expectations, stock returns can be positive even during a recession. ... This interactive chart shows the power of markets through a century of US recessions. (see link)

08.01.2022 Diversification helps take the guess work out of investing. With some stocks achieving extraordinary growth in recent weeks, it's only natural to ask yourself "why would I invest in anything other than these companies?". Well ... the reason is that there are huge risks in concentrating your investments into one or a handful of stocks. This week's winner can quite often be next week's loser.... If you never own enough of any one stock to make a killing in it, you will probably never own enough to get killed by it. #GetIntentional #GetRichSlow

04.01.2022 The story of GameStop, a US computer games and electronics retailer, has set social media and the finance world alight this week as ordinary investors banded together to take on (and take down) Wall Street hedge funds. 01.01.2022 DO YOU TRACK YOUR FINANCIAL NET WORTH? If you sold everything you owned and paid off all your debts, the amount that’s left over is your net worth. A net worth statement is a snapshot of your financial health: a record of your financial assets and liabilities at a point in time.... Your personal net worth statement is a useful tool for building wealth. It helps to evaluate your financial situation so that you can plan for the future. Knowing your net worth can motivate you to get intentional with your finances. It can help you to decide whether to ramp of your savings and investments, or to focus on paying down debt. Your net worth will fluctuate over time, but it should be trending upwards if you have your finances under control. #GetIntentional

If you have any questions about making the most your money and getting intentional about your financial future, I’d love to hear from you. #GetIntentional
