25.01.2022 How do people think this is at all acceptable? If anyone has any information that can help the Kings Plains guys get their gear back step up please.

24.01.2022 There's more than one way to clean your gutters.

24.01.2022 Hi Greg, for your members: This Thursday,25 June, BCF is doing 30% off store wide no exclusions for first responders including SES and RFS. Grab a bargain. Feel free to pass it on. I have confirmed please take id if waiting on one wear uniform

23.01.2022 Is it bad that the strike pattern made me smile after a long day? Congratulations to Ausgrid and the SES units who have taken care of the aftermath from all of that.

23.01.2022 With so much sad, negative... and frustrating news or posts on our timelines, it was high time for a feel good post. Thanks Frank for realising the police are people, like everyone else, doing their jobs and for looking out for them. That's the real Aussie spirit. (Y)

23.01.2022 As some of you may be aware, Greg Readett is one of our senior members and also volunteers with the Inverell RFS. His son Ashton is currently undergoing treatment for a rare form of T Cell Lymphoma at John Hunter. Ashton is fighting hard but the treatment is taking a real toll on him and his family. Greg's friends have set up a Go Fund Me to help the Readetts while Ashton tries to kick the cancer. The VRA have been very supportive, with Kylie and Jason pledging to shave. Jas...on lost his trademark 20 year beard and Kylie had her wavey locks shaved earlier today. If you would like to help Ashton Kick cancer you can drop cash donations off at the Aussie Cafe or you can follow the link in the comments to donate on line. https://www.facebook.com/112884980456757/videos/2392056791092352/

22.01.2022 Holy storm and cyclone season, Batman! Look at the bat-signal! This International Batman Day, join Bruce Wayne and the people of Gotham City by saving the SES c...ontact number into your phone: 132 500. You can call this number to request flood and storm related assistance from the SES before, during or after wild weather hits. However, if the situation is life-threatening, please dial Triple Zero (000) immediately. Do NOT nanananananananana call Batman.

20.01.2022 Yet another service that looks after our safety. Show them some support and let them keep up the great work.

20.01.2022 Our page was contacted today by someone looking to connect with her lost father who was born locally. Please have a look at the information in the link to see if you may be able to help. https://www.facebook.com/groups/665415500256966/permalink/2171913796273788/

20.01.2022 The Bureau has confirmed that a La Niña has formed in the tropical Pacific, with climate models suggesting it's likely to remain until at least the end of 2020.... La Niña typically brings: A wetter-than-average spring and summer to northern and eastern Australia; Cooler-than-average days and warmer-than-average nights; Increased tropical cyclone numbers; An earlier start to the monsoon and wet season; Average fire risk; and Less intense but more prolonged heatwaves across southern Australia. But every La Niña event is different. Once La Niña develops it usually finishes the following autumn, but some events have lasted 2 or 3 years. Rainfall can also vary considerably. During the last big event of 2010-2012 rainfall was above average across most of Australia (we saw Category 5 tropical cyclone Yasi devastate far north Queensland communities during this period), whereas rainfall during the La Niña event of 2008-2009 was much more patchy. 19.01.2022 Although a bit too close to the truth with some jobs the unit has been called to.

19.01.2022 Our condolences to the family, both immediate and extended. Also sympathy to the many searchers who hoped and strove for a different outcome. Vale young Braxton, and fly free little angel.

19.01.2022 This is a time to be kind and remember that there may well be a story behind the face that you don't know anything about. I've seen a lot of nasty posts in regards to people making "non-essential" trips. Do you ever think maybe that guy buying a gallon of paint knows he must keep busy because idle hands in the past has caused him to relapse and pick up that case of beer ? So he's using this time to do home improvements, something that keeps his mind busy while feeling a sense... of accomplishment, trying to avoid painful triggers while possibly alone? Or maybe that lady buying bags of soil and seeds, hasn't struggled with depression and suicide? How do you know that planting and watching something beautiful grow during this time of darkness, isn't essential to her and holding on to what little hope she might still have. We need to remember that it is impossible to know just by looking at a situation from "our" small lens what someone is truly going through or where their mental health is at. Everyone handles chaos and healing through different means, and I know we are all on edge but please stop being so judgmental of others. #mentalhealthisnumberone

19.01.2022 So many people ask "Where do you find the time?" We make the time because we know it's needed and thankfully have the support of our families in the process.

18.01.2022 We'd like to congratulate the Inverell VRA on celebrating their 40th annivesary as an emergency service in Inverell.

14.01.2022 Heads up for those around Brodies Plains.

14.01.2022 Yes we've had some rain but we are not out of the woods. Stay vigilant and if you need to do a burn take all the precautions and ensure you have your permit in place. Here's to a wet but storm free summer.

13.01.2022 Look carefully at the images... If it's flooded forget it.

12.01.2022 This just in from Northern Tablelands... Permit reminder and our first Total Fire Ban for the season.

12.01.2022 If nothing else, notice the point about your insurance.

12.01.2022 Total fire bans nearby and Very High fire danger for Inverell tomorrow.

11.01.2022 As most of the unit have been at a land search for the little boy in Ashford throughout the night, training will be postponed until next Thursday night. We are sorry for any inconvenience to those who had planned to come and see us about membership but we need to manage fatigue and potentially return to the search later today.

04.01.2022 During the searches, police seized......including three Landcruiser utility’s owned-by and purpose-built for the NSW Rural Fire Service........ Included in these seizures were three purpose-built vehicles owned by the NSW Rural Fire Service that police will allege were stolen from Yennora in April this year. These are emergency service vehicles, that are essential resources for the organisation and the community particularly after what the state endured last summer.

03.01.2022 What can happen when a storm rips through. See individual pictures for details.

02.01.2022 A glimpse at the long range fore cast...

02.01.2022 It is frightening how little depth the water needs to ruin your plans.
