21.01.2022 Great news! Today Group19JRL have given Inverell Minor League Hawks the go ahead to enter 2 teams per age group into the competition for 2021. So for those of you who have sent in an expression of interest, we will be in touch over the proceeding days with information on how to register. If you haven’t yet put in an expression of interest but are interested in playing for IML, keep an eye on our fb page over the next few days for details.... We still have spots available in the 2nd teams for 13’s, 15’s, 17’s, JLT, ILT and SLT. Any questions, please message our fb page

20.01.2022 COACHES APPLICATIONS FOR 2021 Season IML Hawks coaches applications are now open for 2021 season. ... Boys age groups for next season have gone to odd age groups. Coaches positions are; U7’s, U9’s, U11’s, U13’s, U15’s, U17’s, JLT, ILT & SLT. Applications are to be emailed to: [email protected] Applications close Tuesday 15th December 5pm. If you are interested in coaching next year for our mighty IML Hawks, please submit your application. Note there will be 1 coach per age group for next season, with the option of a team manager (who can also be a qualified coach and assist with training and/or coaching). 16.01.2022 SECRETARY & REGISTRAR WANTED The Group 19 JRL Executive Committee is calling for nominations from any person interested in taking on the roles of Secretary or... Registrar for the 2021 season. About the roles- Secretary We are hoping to find someone who is passionate about junior rugby league and wanting to help drive growth and development within our region. Whilst previous experience on a sporting committee would be an advantage, it is not a requirement as we will ensure the successful nominee receives all the support and training necessary. Some characteristics of a successful club secretary include, but are not limited to: Good organisational skills Strong Communication skills Ability to build rapport with stakeholders Ability to work as a team and respond to requests in a timely manner Has time to commit to the running of the group including attending meetings Registrar We are hoping to find someone who has experience working with the MySideline membership database or someone who is willing to learn. The registrar will be responsible for ensuring that every player, official and volunteer is correctly registered and liaise with clubs to ensure all registration requirements have been met. Ideally the Registrar is someone who is: Can communicate effectively Is well organised and can delegate tasks Is technologically sound Has the ability to liaise with clubs and other stakeholders. To nominate for either position please submit a written expression of interest to [email protected] by close of business on Friday 20th November 2020.

16.01.2022 Please share If your child, both boys and girls, are interested in playing minor league or league tag this year, this is the year for us at IML to try and make it happen. We realise there are a couple of clubs unable to form committees this year, and our executive committee want to be able to give as many kids as possible the opportunity to play minor league. ... We realise there have been players wanting to play for IML for a number of years but have been unable to due to filling numbers in our age groups (we have maximum numbers per team to ensure each player receives a fair amount of game time per game). This is our chance to enable more players to play the game we love. BUT we need you to please message our face book page with an expression of interest for this to be possible. We have quite a few numbers expressing interest already, but need to fulfill requirements of multiple age groups, in particular League Tag and older boys age groups to be able to make this happen. Also, any child interested in playing for IML this season, please message your expression of interest. We can only try and get more teams in place if we have more kids expressing their interest and parents putting their hands up to help volunteer. 04.01.2022 PLAYER REGISTRATIONS FOR 2021 SEASON Player registrations will open for returning players for the 2021 season on 3rd January 2021. Initial registrations will be only for those who PLAYED for Inverell in 2020. If you have not registered as a returning player by 22nd January, your position will be available to be filled by other players. ... Anyone wishing to play for Inverell Minor League Hawks who is NOT a returning player from the 2020 season, must fb message to the IML page an expression of interest and the age they will be turning in 2021. If we get enough interest, we will look at potentially trying to introduce more teams, BUT, we can’t do this without parents putting their hands up to volunteer. For more teams to be possible we must have more coaches, league safes, first aid officers and referees. If we don’t get enough volunteers, we cannot make this happen. If you would be interested in becoming a volunteer in any capacity please also message our fb page. IML executive would like to wish all players and parents a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year, and we look forward to a great 2021 season

03.01.2022 2020/2021 Greater Northern Tigers Trials Andrew Johns (U16) and Laurie Daley (U18) Cup Teams The Greater Northern Tigers are now calling for Applications to Trial for the 2020/2021 Andrew Johns (U16) and Laurie Daley (U18) Cup teams to play in the 2021 competitions. Trials for both these age groups will be held in Tamworth, with the Laurie Daley (U18) trial being held on Friday evening, 16th October 2020 and the Andrew Johns (U16) on Friday evening 23rd October 2020.... Trials will kick off at 5.30pm on both evenings. These are open trials for players who reside within the Greater Northern Region (Group 4, Group 19 and Group 21). If selected in the squads, players must be available for training from November through until potentially April. Training would include sessions mid-week in localised areas and, also training on weekends in Tamworth. Our program is overseen by our Pathway Partners in the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs. Members of their Pathways and Development staff are in attendance at sessions through the program. The competition will run between February and April. If you are unable to trial on these dates, and wish to be considered, players must send a written explanation of the reasons that you are not able to participate. Nadine, Damien and Alan all decided not to nominate for re-election this year and we hope they are able to make the most of their newly-found free time.
