22.01.2022 Results from yesterday at our Ladies 'Rose Bowl' day. The weather was the most perfect day for golf, we had 60 players in the field. There was a stall of all kinds of goods, home cooked items, plenty of that .... hand crafts, plants, vegetables and knick knaks. On our Bowl day each year, we have a stall and raffle and the proceeds from this we choose a charity to give to. This year we choose the 'Drought Relief". We also contacted all other clubs advising them of our choi...ce for this year and asked the clubs if any of them wished to assist by means of giving 'ladies personal items' that can be given to some of these badly suffering families. Sure there has been a wonderful country wide drive to help with feed for the animals. This is a "Women for Women" form of assistance. This will all be given to our local Branch of the CWA (Native Hut Branch). They will see that every item and every dollar goes to places of the most need, with the CWA we know there is no administration costs involved and the full benefit goes to where it is intended. We could not have been more moved than what we were, when we saw so many ladies coming in with large bags and boxes full of items and some non perishable foods from their respective clubs. From the Inverleigh Golf Club Ladies, our enormous thanks to you all. On top of that, there were some cash donations, and then to top it off the stall and the raffle made far more than we have ever experienced in past years. The total amount raised from these all this was $1508.00 :) :) Lesley Johns from the Native Hut CWA gave a talk on what the CWA do their utmost to achieve and thanked everyone for their wonderful support. Now the results of the golf side of the day were: Rose Bowl winning team - East Geelong (1) with a score of 114 pts. the team players were Debby O'Shannessy, Kate O'Shannessy and Glenice Hayward. Division 1 Winner - Sally Dyer (Winchelsea) 45 Division 1 Runner up - Chris Spencer (Barwon Valley) 39 Division 2 Winner - Kate O'Shannessy (East Geelong) 41 Division 2 Runner up - Sue barnes (Torquay) 40 on a countback from Robyn Erwin (Inverleigh). NTP 3rd - Marg Hedger (Lara) 15th - Donna Utt (Portarlington) THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT See more
21.01.2022 Our watching the sunset from the dam wasn’t what we had hoped.... so much cloud there was no nice sunset, at least the wind had dropped and it was beautiful and calm and balmy. But who needed that anyway, a handful of loyal members and partner, a drink or two each, some nibbles, a rain dance from one very devoted secretary along to a Johnny Farnham ‘rain’ song all accumulated to a lot of laughs. So we didn’t have to scramble up wet slippery slopes to get back to our cars, but the thought and hope was there. It will rain ..... eventually... and we know we will see water in there at some stage. Thanks to those who came along, a bit of different fun, it was a fun idea Greg, good thought.
21.01.2022 Reminder of our WORKING BEE - Sunday 1st March and Sunday, 15th March from 9 til 12pm with BBQ lunch. Please try to make it along to one or both. We need to the help of members to get our course up to scratch. Hope to see you there.
21.01.2022 What fantastic rain we had last night, all members are smiling today. The committee would now ask if anyone has reason to be driving around the course, please stay OFF THE FAIRWAYS in your vehicle as the new grass will now shoot and we need to give it every chance, not churn it up with our wheels. Looking forward to seeing our green fairways back again These are photos taken this morning of the smaller dams on both sides of the 4th fairway and the 1st photo is the newly cleaned out and enlarged dam at the back of the 10th and 17th. Looking wonderful
20.01.2022 During road closure period, access to our Golf Club will be available from the east (from township). Please note that, unfortunately, access to our Golf Club from the west end of Common Rd (Teesdale Rd) will not be available from 18 Jan 21 to 05 Mar 21.
20.01.2022 Thanks to the hard working volunteer members who came to spread sprigs on the 7th fairway today and for all the preparation done beforehand. Job well done and the rain came down just after we finished. So no working bee needed tomorrow. The front 9 is therefore out of action until further notice. Please play the back 9 twice. The course is looking terrific!
19.01.2022 INVITATION TO ALL ....... This Friday evening there will be a fun gathering of anyone and everyone who has time and likes a laugh of something a bit different ..... our dam at the back of the 10th and 17th scrape has been excavated out and cleaned up ready to catch plenty of rain this coming ‘wet season’. The dam is currently empty of course so we are having drinks at sunset in the bottom of the dam, as we are hopeful that we will never be able to see the bottom again once the rain arrives So from 6.00pm on (sunset is approximately 7.15) come along BYO : chair, nibbles, drinks and camera. Not golf oriented, just social fun, but the golf members will be doing a lot of ‘praying’ for rain.
19.01.2022 ATTENTION ALL CLUB MEMBERS.... there will be a well needed working bee on Sunday 19th May. There are a very few members who have been working hard over the summer and autumn dry season on the course. We now need everyone’s help to do a bit more as our golf and Disc golf gets truly underway. As a volunteer club, it is part of the membership conditions that we all contribute some time to help on and around the clubhouse and course. The working bee will start at 9 and finish wi...th a BBQ lunch for all helpers. If you are unable to stay for the full morning, even a shorter time is something. So come when you can, and leave when you must. If you are unable to assist at all on the day, but have some spare time any other day, please call Jeremy Richardson 0407 515493 or Greg Erwin 0408 651744 they can give you advice on what you can do to help out. 19.01.2022 This posting is a tad late as some people were on holidays !! Congratulations to Lesley (Richo) Richardson on taking out the Greta Volum singles knockout this year. Lesley has been in the final of this event for 3 years running, the first 2 losing to Sascha Bruenjes on the 18th both times. 18.01.2022 The ‘Opening of the Valves’ ....... Members and locals all witnessed the opening of the sprinklers at the golf course tonight. Turned on by our master of the watering system, David Brown. This project has been many years in the pipeline, but this past year it has come to fruit. Congratulations to our wonderful small group of men who have made the watering of the tees, and surrounds of the scrapes on the front nine holes finally come to a reality.

17.01.2022 For anyone who knows what the Inverleigh Golf Club usually looks like at this time of year, very dry ...... Take a look at it this year. The committee have worked hard over the past couple of years installing a partial watering system for the front 9, tees and surround of the scrapes. With the sprinklers and some dedicated members assisting with the watering, plus mother nature's help this summer, this is what the 9th fairway looks like.
17.01.2022 Attention all golf Club Members. Sunday 17th February is the first working bee for the year. 9-12 or whatever time you can spare to help out is desperately needed please. Over the Summer there has been a very small group of members doing a lot of maintenance work. Now is time to do more to get the course into better shape ready to play our golf. If you wish to stay till around midday, there will be a BBQ sausage or two available along with a well earned cold drink. The ...more who help, the less it will be for everyone. Please try your utmost to attend. It's your club, and surely you would like it in good playing condition. If anyone is unable to attend on Sunday but finds they have a bit of time during the week to do something on their own or with the assistance of another person, that is also greatly appreciated. In this case please give Greg Erwin 0408 651744 or Jeremy Richardson 0407 515493 a call and they can explain what you can help out with. See more

09.01.2022 Today’s winner of our Elsie Walsh salver was Glenise Stevens and Isobel Oliver with a beautiful score of 44 pts. Both players played beautifully, Glenise managing to be the one on the card first, denying Issy of the proof of her great score. This resulted of Glenise dropping a stroke or so from her handicap. Well done Glenny. The runners up with a very pleasing score, but unfortunately not good enough today, was Lesley Johns and Sandra Hofmaier with a lovely 40 points. The salver is played for each year in memory of our well loved and respected Life Member Elsie Walsh, very well known lady in Inverleigh, having lived here most of her life. Elsie passed away in 2001.

02.01.2022 Sadly, due to Corona Virus restrictions, Inverleigh Golf Club will not be able to hold our Annual 4 Person Ambrose event (Sunday 5th July) or our Open Tournament ( 7th - 9th August). We are very disappointed as these events are our major fundraising events, but current restrictions make holding these events almost impossible for us. If restrictions ease, we will attempt to reschedule the Ambrose event to later in the year, subject to SWGA Calendar of events.
