23.01.2022 Things may have been a bit out of whack today with our first time hosting a round of netty and footy since late 2019! Oh and without our club rooms which are progressing well. But it was a great day for the club and so fantastic to see people enjoying local footy and netty back in Inverleigh! Big shout out to Chef Wheels who did a cracking job on the BBQ with help all day from young Chaise Rossiello and a few fly ins throughout the day serving a range of culinary delights as ...well as everyone's fave pastries from the Inverleigh Bakehouse. Also big thanks to Leanne from Betsy the Barista who gave us a big chop out with food and coffee too! Willy on the bar always serves with a smile and kept the riff raff happy. Well done to all teams today against East Geelong. While it was a tough day for the netball with only C grade and the 17s getting the Chocolates, both our seniors and reserves fought out tough wins against a well drilled opposition. 22.01.2022 Great news everybody. Auskick has been given the green light to return from July 13. We have a small hurdle to get over first. We need an Auskick Coordinator. We are looking for a passionate parent or community member to coordinate the Inverleigh Auskick Program. Support will be provided by the club. 19.01.2022 **Parents of junior NETBALL players** Dear Families, The GDFL are looking to put together a modified junior competition for the 2020 season. Details around when or where this would take place are not yet certain. This will depend on feedback from players and their families. Depending on interest, the competition may run under the banner of GDFL or AFL Barwon.... As a club, we are seeking to gather feedback from parents to determine if players are interested in taking part. To help collate feedback on how players and their families feel about participating in this competition, we are asking parents to fill out the following short survey. It is the players and families who make our club such a terrific place to be and for this reason we value your feedback. It will help us move forward in a way that represents the needs of our players and community. We understand the challenges that many people and families are experiencing in this time and encourage honest feedback. This feedback form will close this Friday the 19th of June. Despite all the difficulty surronding his first year at the club he has bought in 100%. His energy and coaching philosophy complements our culture and were wrapped to call him a Hawk.

14.01.2022 Hi All, the IFNC can confirm that late Thursday night we were made aware that a family member of one of our U13 players has returned a positive test for COVID-19. All appropriate steps in line with the COVID protocols have been followed and are currently taking place to ensure the safety of all our members and extended families. The families of the players who attended Under 13 training on Wednesday night have been notified directly by the club. The training attendance sheet... has been shared with AFL Barwon who will work with DHS if/where necessary. Further testing is taking place as a result and any impact on upcoming Under 13s training will be communicated to those families once we get more information on the situation. Although the risk of transmission in this case is very low due to the stringent protocols followed by IFNC, we encourage anyone showing symptoms to get tested. For now, all other junior teams are OK to proceed as per COVID normal, and we request that the privacy of those involved please be respected. Thank you

10.01.2022 Gday all. For the next 5 weeks We will be doing a bit of a fundraiser for the inverleigh fnc and after 5 weeks we will change it up and run a bit of a different raffle. I could give you a big spill about finances but this is aimed as a fund raiser to the football and netball club to keep us going plus giving an opportunity for everyone to win some cash. If you are in a position to support the club by putting in $10 a week, please get around it. We need atleast 44 tickets sold... but the more the better obviously. Here is how it will work for the next 5 weeks...bit of a first goal raffle..every Thursday night at 7pm those who have entered will get drawn out a player randomly for the Friday night game (which I will do live at 7pm on the inverleigh Facebook page, st Kilda v giants this Friday night) and if you win you will get $120 cash. 09.01.2022 It is with great sadness we mark the passing of past player John Perrott 25/9/1934 - 11/9/2020. Father of or former Junior Coordinator Shane and Grandfather of current player Austin. John passed peacefully with his family. John was a Premiership player with the Swan Hill Football Club and Past player, Inverleigh Football Club. He was a Former South Melbourne reserve player, a Geelong Football Umpire, a Cricket Scorer and Team Manger with the Geelong Cricket Club. St Pauls Geelong Tennis Club member and premiership player. Geelong Cross Country member. 30 + years SECV employee. John was a one eyed Geelong supporter who enjoyed his family, (very proud of his grand children), sport and fishing. Now at peace.

05.01.2022 Hi everyone, Yesterday morning (15th July), the IFNC received confirmation that the Under 13s player whose family member had previously tested positive to Covid-19, has now also tested positive. The health advice the club has been given is that it is extremely unlikely that the player was contagious at training last Wednesday (8th July) considering the timeline of testing and onset of symptoms. Barwon Health have also confirmed that the other players who attended training las...t Wednesday are NOT considered close contacts and are not required to isolate or be tested unless they begin to show symptoms. However as a precaution, the club has asked those players who attended training last Wednesday not to attend training this week unless they have been tested and received a negative result. The majority these players have already been tested and so far all results received have been negative. Our Under 13 team will also have the scheduled bye this weekend, and we are not hosting any home games for round 1. The family with the positive test result have been in isolation since being notified of the first positive test result. They are in good spirits and the IFNC have offered them our full support and wish them a speedy recovery. We look forward to supporting all the kids returning to football this weekend and commend all clubs and affiliated sporting and government bodies for the work they are putting in to make this happen and keep us all safe. 05.01.2022 ##Player Announcement# We are thrilled to welcome Kad Walsh to the club. Kad comes to us from Anakie and at 195cm will be a key addition as a Ruck/Fwd. He will bring with him fantastic attack on the footy and around ground pressure. We think Kads desire for success and genuine Character will make him a perfect fit at Inverleigh. 05.01.2022 Awsome news from Matt our Jnr Co Ordinator TRAINING IS COMING BACK! Due to the overwhelming positive responses to our survey and information revealed by AFL Barwon this week junior training will be returning in Term 3. ... AFL Barwon has stated that junior competitions are a priority in 2020 and if government restriction are lifted to an acceptable level then Round 1 will likely commence August 1. Inverleigh Football Club Junior Football will return to training on the week of 13/7. This will give coaches a chance to prepare drills and activities that are in line with current guidelines but still fun and worthwhile. Due to current restrictions we will need to split up the age groups on to different nights to ensure that everyone can attend. Mondays - Under 9s Tuesday - Under 15s Wednesday - Under 13s Thursday - Under 11s Further correspondence will be sent out before training starts in relation to expectations on attendees and parents and to keep everyone informed about what IFNC are doing to control the risks associated with Covid-19 .

03.01.2022 With Junior Netball and Football about to begin, we are so fortunate to have great sponsors to help us provide opportunities for our kids and for the future of our club.
